‘Jessica Winfield, a transgender formerly named Martin Ponting, is a convicted rapist who for years has been held at Whitemoor prison in Cambridgeshire. Recently, Winfield was transferred to HMP Bronzefield in Ashford, which happens to be a women’s prison. Put in simpler terms, the staff at Whitemoor prison moved Winfield to a facility not based on his biological sex, but rather based on the gender he felt he was on the inside.

A decade ago, when Winfield was a male transsexual, the convicted rapist wrote an article in prisoners’ newspaper Inside Time in which he complained about being bullied and given a “hard time because of my sexuality, possibly through lack of understanding and empathy.” One of the women who had been a victim of Ponting called the fact that the prison allowed him to change genders “diabolical.” She told the newspaper, “There are not enough words to describe him and the evil he has done.”’

‘In an email to fellow faculty yesterday afternoon, a committee of Wellesley College professors made several startling recommendations about how they think future campus speakers should be chosen. If implemented, the proposals by the faculty Commission for Ethnicity, Race, and Equity would have a profound impact on the quality and quantity of voices Wellesley students would be permitted to hear.

FIRE has obtained the email, sent by one of the signatories to a faculty listserv, and republished it in full below.

While paying lip service to free speech, the email is remarkable in its contempt for free and open dialogue on campus. Asserting that controversial speakers “impose on the liberty of students, staff, and faculty at Wellesley,” the committee members lament the fact that such speakers negatively impact students by forcing them to “invest time and energy in rebutting the speakers’ arguments.”

And here we thought learning to effectively challenge views with which one disagreed was an important part of the educational process!’

‘A teenage boy was told by school leaders that he had to “tolerate” undressing in front of a female student and to make it as “natural” as possible, according to a blockbuster lawsuit filed in a Pennsylvania federal district court.

The lawsuit, filed Tuesday by Alliance Defending Freedom and Independence Law Center, alleges the Boyertown Area School District shamed the teenage boy and violated his personal privacy. They are also alleging sexual harassment.

“No school should rob any student of this legally protected personal privacy,” ILC attorney Randall Wenger said. “We trust that our children won’t be forced into emotionally vulnerable situations like this when they are in the care of our schools because it’s a school’s duty to protect and respect the bodily privacy and dignity of all students.”’

‘Students at an Iowa high school have been criticized for wearing red, white, and blue clothing to a recent basketball game with some calling the patriotic colors “racist.”

As they have done several times in the past, students at Valley High from Des Moines, Iowa, organized a U.S.A. colors day and wore red, white, and blue and U.S. flag-themed clothing to last week’s game against North High School.

But the effort was deemed “controversial” by members of North High because their school has a “diverse” student body.

“A lot of people were very upset about it,” North sophomore DeNasja Spencer told CBS affiliate KCCI TV. “Even if that was their theme for the game, I feel like they should have switched that because everyone knows North is a more diverse school,” she added.’

‘Machines that measure gravity’s pull on the human body have been declared “intolerant” by Carleton University, which decided to pull all body weight scales from its gym in order to avoid “triggering” snowflake students.

As reported by CBC news (Canada):

The paper quotes one student as saying, “Scales are very triggering” for people with eating disorders.

“Next it will be the mirrors. #bringbackthescale,” wrote one Carleton student on Facebook, while another said online, “Are you for real, Carleton? What a sick joke.”

The university’s decision to declare gravity to be “intolerant” is, of course, entirely predictable given academia’s mission of teaching students to believe in “feelings” rather than the laws of nature.’

‘Saudi Arabia may have had the best of intentions for its inaugural Girls’ Council meeting, but photographs from the event suggest the Saudis were missing a vital element, actual women.

While Saudi Arabia’s lack of gender diversity is hardly a surprise in a country where women must seek a male guardian’s permission to work, study or travel, the irony of a girl’s council being entirely void of any women was not lost on the internet.

The Girls Council was launched in al-Qassim on Saturday, led by Prince Faisal bin Mishaal bin Saud. His wife, Princess Abir bint Salman, was not featured in the photograph, despite her position as chair of the council.’

‘It’s official: we are now living in a society that has limited to no definition whatsoever. Sally can be a boy if she wants, David can be a girl, and Peter can be a hamster. And the second that anyone references biology and questions the anatomic identity of said persons, they are immediately called a bigot, a homophobe or worse. The obvious question, then, is what makes a man a man? What makes a woman a woman? Without any specific standards to point to with regards to sex and gender, our society is, at least in this case, without definition.’

‘A Texas politician has filed legislation that would see men fined $100 (£82) for masturbating unless they are doing it in a sanctioned session at a hospital or clinic.

Jessica Farrar, a Democrat, created the “Man’s Right To Know Act” to highlight how women have been affected by targeted healthcare legislation in her state, particularly relating to abortion.

She said its rules — including a mandatory waiting period before a vasectomy procedure or receiving a prescription for Viagra, as well as a “medically-unnecessary digital rectal exam” — mirror “real TX laws and health care restrictions faced by TX women every #txlege session”.’

‘A far-right French mayor has appeared in court on charges of inciting hatred for his remarks last year, in which he said that there were too many Muslim children at the schools in his city, and implied that the ethnic French population is being “replaced.”

Robert Menard, mayor of the southern town of Béziers and an ally of Marine Le Pen’s anti-immigration and Eurosceptic National Front party, appeared before Paris Criminal Court on Wednesday for the launch of his trial for incitement of hatred, in relation to two statements he made in 2016.

“In a class in the city center of in my town, 91 percent of the children are Muslims. Obviously, this is a problem,” he said in an interview on the French news channel LCI in September.’
