
'A royal biographer has claimed that 'a lot of The Crown is true' and insisted that nobody can prove The Queen and her horse racing manager Lord Porchester didn't share 'more than just a passionate friendship.'
Tom Bower joined the The Queen's former press secretary Dickie Arbiter on Good Morning Britain today, with the biographer suggesting that the programme could be closer to fact than fiction.
The popular Netflix drama, which is now in its third series, has caused controversy after it emerged episodes will hint that the royal may have been romantically involved with her horse race manager.
But despite Dickie's claim the storyline is 'muckracking', Tom defended the drama, saying: 'I think a lot of it is true, I think a lot of is well researched, a lot of the arguments, a lot of the affairs, a lot of the issues did happen.'
Dickie has hit the headlines in the past week as he slammed the suggestion the royal had an inappropriate relationship with Lord Porchester.
In an upcoming epsiode of the Netflix drama, the Queen is depicted as travelling to stud farms in both America and France with Lord Porchester.'
