ROLF HARRIS entertained BBC 1 viewers on a Saturday night with his brilliant painting skills.
He would begin without giving a clue what he was doing – a few strokes on one edge of the canvas, followed by a few more on another, until with the final picture almost in view he would say, almost cheekily, ‘can you tell what it is yet?’
The answer, in most cases, was a frustrating ‘no’.
A few moments later the painting was complete, and we’d wonder how we could have been kept in the dark for so long.
Rolf Harris, consummate artist, musician and entertainer, twice employed to paint The Queen, is also a convicted paedophile – can you tell what the Royals are yet? Probably not.
The problem, you see, is our lifelong programming. We may believe one seemingly isolated piece of information about the Royals – akin to a few strokes on Rolf’s canvas – but it doesn’t give us the whole picture.
Instead that picture has been built on endless positive input – we are told constantly how wonderful the Royal Family are and how they contribute to Britain as a nation. Then there are the special set piece occasions such as weddings, births and even funerals used to promote their virtues and worth.
Then when we compare one negative with an overall picture of positives, we revert to our default position that the Royals are great people.
Just a little more of the ‘real’ picture is emerging in these days of apocalypse, or unveiling, as even mainstream media are following the sexual allegations made against Prince Andrew far more enthusiastically than normal.
So, considering that Andrew was a friend of notorious paedophile Jeffrey Epstein, who is suspected of providing young people to the rich and famous for sexual exploitation, I ask the same question: can you tell what the Royals are yet?
The answer, it seems, is ‘yes’ but mostly ‘no’. There are still those who shake their heads in disbelief at the very suggestion a Royal could have been involved in such sordid criminal activities. For many, the stark statement from Buckingham Palace disassociating Andrew from any of Epstein’s wrong doings is good enough. These are upstanding people – so our programming tells us – so what they are telling us is true.
There are others for whom the mind control is beginning to crack. Yes, they can believe Andrew was involved – they’ve seen the photographs, heard there are witness statements and now are facing the issue that if Andrew continued to attend some of Epstein’s gatherings even after his jail sentence, the unthinkable could be true.
But still what they have been told over and over again prevents them from joining up the brush strokes and seeing the picture. Andrew, I’ve read, is ‘one bad egg’ who might be letting the Royal Family down. They can’t go as far as to link Andrew with any other Royals who have question marks hanging over them.
Let’s consider Prince Charles, as far as we know the future Monarch. He was a very close personal friend of the astonishingly evil and manipulative paedophile Jimmy Savile for 35 years at a conservative estimate. So close he spent time with him both at Buckingham Palace and at one of Savile’s homes in Scotland.
And what was Charles’ considered view on this monster?
He marked Savile’s 80th birthday by sending him a box of cigars and a pair of gold cufflinks with a note reading: “Nobody will ever know what you have done for this country Jimmy. This is to go some way in thanking you for that.”
The Royals, no doubt with Charles’ enthusiastic approval, went still further by knighting the child abuser.
So when you consider the company Charles kept and how at ease e was with it, I ask the same question: can you see what the Royals are yet?
There will come a time – and that time is nigh – when so much of the ugly picture has been revealed that only by an act of wilful defiance could any honest person fail to see what the Royals are.
All I have mentioned here are some of the broader brush strokes – the stories that really hit the headlines.
There are numerous others we don’t recall so readily such as paedophile priests and Anthony Blunt, The Queen’s paedophile cousin and spy, that have probably gone into and out of our national conscience without quite registering.
But when you see the overall picture you will gasp in anger and disbelief.
How could you have been so blind for so long?
It’s not ultimately any fault on your part. You have merely been played by propaganda your whole lifetime. The same ‘deep cover’ that Savile spoke about as protecting him during his lifetime.
The Royal picture is awful, disgusting, appalling, incredible.
It becomes only marginally more comfortable for those of us who have ‘seen it’ sooner rather than later.
For those who have devoted their lives to The Crown, perhaps ‘serving their country’ in armed conflict or working for them in other capacities, the shock may be too great to stomach.
Finding out what Rolf Harris, Jimmy Savile and now Prince Andrew really are is very difficult in isolation.
But even they are very small pieces of the overall picture.
