A friend of mine has recently asked me this question: Does `equality` exist? The answer depends on individual perspective, and whether it is in reference to the physical or Spiritual / Universal planes of existence. The online etymology dictionary defines equality as “evenness, smoothness and uniformity” c. late 1400, from the Latin word `aequalitatem` meaning “similarity” and “likeness”.
Egalitarian doctrines maintain that all humans should either “get the same, or be treated the same” in some respect, such as social status. [equal-ity].
Egalitarianism is a trend of thought in political philosophy, and some sources define egalitarianism as the point of view that equality reflects the natural state of humanity. Source: Wikipedia.
The United Declaration of Human Rights. Article 1 reads: WE are all born FREE and EQUAL. We are all born free. We all have our own thoughts and ideas. We should all be treated in the same way. [Equal-ity].
Article 18 reads: FREEDOM of THOUGHT. We all have the right to believe in what we want to believe, to have a religion, or to change it if we want. [Equal-ity].
Article 19 reads: FREEDOM of EXPRESSION. We all have the right to make up our own minds, to think what we like, to say what we think, and to share our ideas with other people. [Equal-ity].
Article 30 reads: No one can take away your human rights. [?] Click on the link for all 30 human rights declarations.
So we have a clear definition of equality and security supposedly associated with it.
So why are these `freedoms` ignored, questioned and even frowned upon?
Equality, even in its simplest form pales into insignificance when compared to the mainstream media and social media philosophy of promoting the so called `elite` groups within our society: Celebrities, politicians, royalty, LGBTQI movements et al.
The constant portrayal of social media of the `perfect` person [false and unequal] and the subsequent agendas, amount to non other than indoctrination of the masses.
It seems that “evenness, smoothness and uniformity” are not acceptable within society. It is hard to look at these three words with any positive connotations, when attempting to rationally explain human behaviour.
With much of western society obsessed with materialism [unequal], domination and brainwashing of the vulnerable [unequal], and the complexities encompassing physical existence, it would appear that equality is confined to one single universal consciousness.
We are all interconnected in this way and thus defined as equal. Life can be daunting when balance and perspective are out of alignment, and until this is addressed, the journey remains unequal. Click on the link for the Spiritual Laws of the Universe.
