"In the future, humans will be able to simulate entire universes quite easily. And given the vastness of time ahead, the number of these simulations is likely to be huge. So if you ask the question 'do we live in the one true reality or in one of the many simulations?', the answer, statistically speaking, is that we're more likely to be living in a simulation." - Silas Beane; renowned Physicist at the University of Bonn, Germany.
The above quote is a summary of what an eminent scientist believes. The likes of Elon Musk have said similar, but there's rather a lot of ifs and buts involved. It's easy to start off confused about it all and quickly become completely bamboozled, as opposed to it all becoming clear... I think our very own David Icke has covered this subject both succinctly and in depth as much as anyone, and that's not me being biased. I'v also had a bloody good go at it myself.
There's a direct correlation between advances in science and our increased awareness of what we perceive as "reality". You may also be aware that scientists nowadays are taking the possibility of simulation theory extremely seriously. Gone are the days of it being considered some sort of crazy unfounded speculation. As is always the case, pioneers of new ideas are often considered a bit mad at first. Until those ideas start to make sense, little by little. That's the cross they must bear.
Although this is not my first dance with this subject, I felt compelled to come back and ponder on it. Please join me in taking a look at some of the reasons why simulation theory has become a viable proposition.
In recent years, quantum physics has taken a quantum leap with regards to what it demonstrates. It's begun to explain some of what was once inexplicable. It's also created a wider chasm between itself and Einstein's theory of relativity; the holy grail of a "theory of everything" gets further away all the time. This is because these 2 scientific fields are so incompatible with and contradictory to each other.
Quantum physics in a nutshell is the study of everything related to the physical. The study of the building blocks that make up the universes(s?) at the very smallest level. Everything that exists consists of these tiny blocks, from an amoeba to the entirety of our universe. These blocks are the FUNDAMENTAL PARTICLES that make up atoms themselves. There isn't much difference between one atom and another; but when they're put together with other atoms, that's when the magic happens.
It's like Lego but smaller.
Atoms come together to make molecules which go on to form all the known elements. We are made of atoms and molecules and these elements. The mystery is that these tiny blocks come together to form "things" that clearly demonstrate intelligence. Take humans for example!
This strongly suggests that some form of higher intelligence was behind the creation of these fundamental particles themselves. And the potential for them to come together in such a way as to create things (like us) that can create other things,etc...
"Thoughts become Things" - For entities lucky enough to be arranged as to have "intelligence", this is true and you only need look around to see the proof. Everything we see was once a thought by "something" or someone.
The pinnacle of this could be seen as modern human technology. How has that arisen from a certain combination of minuscule fundamental building blocks? Is it just luck? I don't believe so, amongst all the apparent chaos there is also so much order.
Surely only Intelligent Design can be behind any further Intelligent Design?
Do you realise that we see in the most ULTRA HIGH DEFINITION available?! Forget your 4K TV rubbish, we're talking about seeing a pixelated universe. However, those pixels are the size of the fundamental particles I keep banging on about. We see anything as smooth and seamless, yet everything is actually pixelated down to the very tiniest unit the universe has to offer. Or the smallest we've discovered so far anyway.
Are these "pixels" the programmed essence of consciousness? We are made of them as well remember, as is everything else in the universe. We also know that the universe is conscious and we are simply an extension of that sea of infinite consciousness. This can also be called the "Source" and everything came from it. Is the universe, or what many call "God", expressing and experiencing itself through us and every other being until we all inevitably return one day due to our death? It's something to reflect on regardless of our limited human comprehension.
The universe and the reality that we perceive is created under a set of very strict laws that are always obeyed. In computer terms, this would be the code that the "programmer" uses.
There are an unknown amount of "laws", we know of hundreds but we also know there are probably many thousands more.
We have cause and effect. Every action has a reaction. Every effect has a cause, something cannot happen for no reason. In a more spiritual sense, what you do (cause) can have either a negative or positive effect. This ties in with the Law of Attraction, made mainstream in recent years by many different speakers and books such as "The Secret". Put simply, like attracts like. So be careful what you put out there!
This also ties in with the Law of Vibration. Every single particle in the universe is continually moving and a constant source of energy. Furthermore, every single particle vibrates at a different speed, what we know as Frequency. And yet again, like attracts like...
These and ALL the other universal laws can be seen as the basis and code under which our universe was programmed by an as yet unknown creator. They are the rules and the constraints that were used to create everything. Quantum Physics explains what the pieces of this enormous puzzle are, down to the smallest known "bit". It's the equivalent of the hardware and software of a computer.
Simulation Theory requires Consciousness and participants that possess consciousness. Thus, does it make sense that in a simulation, the creator would grant us the same type of consciousness that they themselves possess?
Consciousness is still an unknown quantity by science and every other field, not that there's a lack of theories. I called the "Theory of Everything" the holy grail earlier. However, I believe the understanding of consciousness, why it exists, how it works and where it comes from would be an even more precious revelation. It's now surely the ultimate question for mankind, alongside the simple question of "Why is there anything?". There are several HUGE questions that we may never know the answer to until we transition from this existence.
The fact remains that some form of consciousness is present in every single particle in existence.
If we are living in a simulation, the programmer was indeed extremely clever to say the least. They not only created all that we know but gave us another gift on top of consciousness; the gift of creation.
Many people are unaware that we are ALL creators, in the same way any "God" would be. Though we're not quite up to performing miracles, we've been able to create anything we want since time began. We do this via our imagination which in turn creates thoughts, a priceless commodity. From simple thoughts, we are able to influence and orchestrate the fundamental particles. As long as we stick to the Universal Laws, we are able to create anything we want. When we stray from the laws, we create very little or nothing.
The fact that we have created so much and advanced so far technologically displays that this ability is instinctive. After all, we are mere extensions of the Universal Consciousness so it makes sense.
Everything that is and has ever been in our reality started out as a thought or idea. We're beginning to see that our creative powers are limitless, there is no point where we will just stop creating. Technology has shown us that the more we develop as a species, the more developments we make. Like attracts Like and Creation breeds Creation.
The possibilities for the future are endless, as long as we don't destroy ourselves in the meantime.
Time has shown that anything we can imagine, we can create. I say "Time", is it not possible that the past, present and even the future are all occurring simultaneously? Einstein himself stated "The distinction between the past, present and future is only a stubbornly persistent illusion." Just another creation of ours to keep track of something so abstract that it may not even exist.
Whoever created our universe, simulation or not, gave us and every conscious being a purpose. A purpose to live for, to aspire to, to create, to explore, to develop,etc...
The very fact that we're blessed with consciousness and creativity proves that the Universe we live in needs to provide avenues for these gifts. There's no point being conscious and creative without anything to perceive and conceive. This all points to Intelligent Design.
We're programmed to be inquisitive and decidedly fascinated with our surroundings. On a small and universal level. As a creator yourself, anything you make will bear the hallmarks of YOU. As some religions say, we were made in God's image; we too create things in our own "image".
Therefore, isn't it clear that whoever created us and our universe could only have done so from THEIR understanding and perspective? Thus, not only is everything in the universe made of the same "stuff" but the creator(s?) themselves is of that same stuff too.
The Big Bang Theory
The general scientific consensus is that the "Big Bang" was how our universe was created. Yet nobody who ever lived has any definitive ideas what caused it or what was before it. The most popular school of thought says that there was NOTHING before the Big Bang.
I cannot accept this as I cannot accept there was ever a state of NOTHINGNESS. In my comprehension of such things, there has ALWAYS been SOMETHING in one form or another.
That's as deep and as far as my scientific theory goes... But I believe it 100%, what do you think?
Science has shown that our universe does appear to have an "age" based on the technology we've created. But what if this incident 13.8 Billion years ago was simply the start of THIS reality? OUR reality? Before it there may have been infinite other realities and/or simulations. There is also likely many more universes other than ours, we can only guess as to how they operate and what they're like. Again, my human comprehension of such complex ideas is extremely limited, by design no doubt.
As for the possible creator(s) of our universe, why the 13.8 Billion year wait till we arrived? Again, seeing as time is an illusion, what we perceive as 13.8 Billion years may well always be the present for the creator. It's perceivable they set the conditions i.e. Universal Laws, added the fundamental particle building blocks and just let this thing run. To them, it could be instantaneous.
All we do know for sure is that this world we live in was designed perfectly and the universe is indescribable, words don't do it justice. We also know that any creator of all this is beyond our current understanding in every sense, both technologically and spiritually.
To finish, I would like to make the point that if there is indeed a "God" of some nature, is this not still some form of simulation we're living in? The 2 so-called contrasting theories of reality OR simulation, in my humble opinion, are not mutually exclusive. Why can't we have both?
Creativity along with the necessary means and tools has given us all we need to strive FOREVER in our perpetual quest for more.
Consciousness has blessed us with the priceless gift of being able to perceive it all. It's also given us LOVE that makes life so meaningful and gives it such significance.
Many people also have an underlying feeling that we're all part of something much bigger than ourselves. Simulation or not, that's a fact, we are.
