Let's shine a bit more light on these devious bastards.
The 16 second clip above is the original demonstration of the Kuleshov Effect in 1918, named after Lev Kuleshov as titled. Alfred Hitchcock himself spoke years later about the power of showing a montage of images to guide the perception of the viewers of his and anyone else's work.
Back to the clip above, this was shown to groups of volunteers. The "audience" would exclaim afterwards how the man's facial reactions were different after each sequence. They believed he had expressed hunger after seeing the soup, sadness after seeing the dead child and lust after seeing the seductive woman. They saw them as 3 separate clips, yet the only actual difference was of course the images inserted between the depiction of the man's face.
So what we see is a fairly rudimentary experiment with very telling results. The perceived meaning of 2 apparently linked shots can be made to be anything the film maker wants, as opposed to using a solitary shot with no other reference points.
Can you see how this simple juxtaposition trickery has become the most powerful technique in editing and film making? Have you also started to contemplate the potential this has to make something appear how it's creator would like it to appear?! For example, making something look better or worse than it truly is? I bloody have!
Would you be surprised to learn that the Kuleshov Effect is what's been used since it's inception as a propaganda tool to gain support from the masses for wars and also oppress those very same masses?!? These are just 2 examples, the list of potential uses is and always will be endless.
With regards to the actual film industry, this technique has been used for a century to make audiences laugh, cry or piss their pants in terror. The desired result doesn't matter, the Kuleshov Effect can do it all with ease. This is where it gets sinister...
There is an almost inescapable entity that infiltrates all our lives. They have the power to influence entire nations and even whole cultures spanning multiple countries. They can literally choose any narrative they or their masters covet, independent of the information and evidence they have access to. This is the ultimate weapon of control and of course, we are talking about the MEDIA. The Mainstream Media (MSM) to be precise.
Why just the MSM and not all news outlets, including independents like the one you're reading this on? For the simple fact that the MSM has a global agenda. That agenda? Management of the Masses by Manipulation.
Though they may well start with a simple truth, they're capable of morphing anything they have into anything they want it to be, just by using this simple technique. They walk a tightrope constantly but seeing as their puppet masters own the various authorities that oversee broadcasting, you won't see them get in any trouble too often. They have this shit down to a fine art. They are so subtle that we can't even see what they're doing anyway. We are their victims. However, once armed with this knowledge, they become transparent and can be seen for the charlatans they really are.
We're not talking about FAKE NEWS here, a la Trump. Oh no, this is not the invention of stories that never happened, this is all about the corruption of events that did happen by the MSM. Have you ever noticed how the same global incident, a war for example, will be reported on differently depending on where you get your information from? The differences will always be subtle, as previously mentioned, but there will be differences in line with the ideology of who is telling you their version of the "News".
The MSM love Stats. And it's nothing to do with the fact statistics can provide the cold, hard truth based on figures that are simple to decipher. To the contrary, statistics can easily be manipulated to drive the desired narrative of ANY particular story. Stats should be simple and unequivocal, yet even they are subject to abuse. And it's easy.
Examples of this can be seen everywhere. Take the introduction of Florida's "Stand Your Ground" law in 2005. This allowed individuals with a gun to basically kill an assailant, even if they admitted that they could have escaped the situation without using lethal force.
Reuters infamously put out a graph that apparently showed gun deaths in Florida dramatically falling after the introduction of the law in 2005. However, they had inverted the Y axis of the graph which showed the number of murders. Thus, the pattern depicted by the chart was effectively upside down! Our minds are programmed to see an upward line as an increase and vice versa. So until this was rumbled, for all intents and purposes it looked like the "Stand Your Ground" law had made a huge impact in the Florida murder rate. It had - It had soared.
The main beneficiaries were undertakers and funeral homes. Subtle as a sledgehammer this one but a great example from a supposedly reputable news outlet. Plus, there is no precedent for taking Reuters to task over this blatant attempt at conning the public. The graph was clearly marked, they hadn't technically done anything wrong but is the inverted Y axis not fishy?... Of course it is! But in a court of law, "fishy" is sadly not enough to take them to the cleaners for pathetically attempting to mislead the public. All this to push an agenda.
NOTE: I have a dream that one day, an MSM outlet will be prosecuted for being "Fishy".
Sometimes numbers don't reflect the picture that an agenda demands. For example, a town may have 1 murder one year. The following year, the same town has 2 murders. Now it's clear that these figures are not really newsworthy, the difference between 1 and 2 murders is insignificant, except to the victims. This is when the MSM will delve into their toolbox and pull out the magic of the PERCENTAGE! And in this case, the murder rate is a 100% increase on the previous year. Job done, murder is rife and everybody's none the wiser. And SCARED.... Fear, the Deep State's great controller.
False correlations are another classic used all the time by the MSM to great effect. This has also led to some truly ridiculous and amusing satirical links between totally unrelated statistics. The following are examples based on real figures somehow mashed together to create a theory;
- The lower the GDP of a country, the larger the penis size of it's male population will be. If this were true, I should be from the Congo or Ethiopia...
- The murder rate in America has a direct correlation with the amount of people using "Internet Explorer" as their web browser.
- Global warming has increased in direct correlation with the global decrease of pirates...
These are all true in the sense that the numbers work. They are extreme examples and intentionally silly, but it demonstrates how figures can be used to illustrate anything you want. I say "you", we're still talking about the Deep State puppets of the MSM here.
The headline of any story in the news is a set-up for what you're going to read about. The headline to this article is exactly that also. The difference is in when the title is misleading, unlike mine...
Studies have proved beyond doubt that the headline influences how the reader views the rest of any given article. The headline is where the bias has most power. This in turn will subconsciously affect the reader and put them in whatever frame of mind the writer wanted; by design of course. The headline is actually more effective than the whole of the article, again proved by studies.
Let's look at the title of this article as an example. I start with "The Kuleshov Effect" which is something you may or may not have heard of before. Regardless, it may have piqued your interest either way. The second part is "Mainstream Media Manipulation" so you KNOW before you start that I'm going to be linking the 2 parts to each other. I've also told you flat out that the MSM manipulate you. If you're on this site, this will not be anything new to you and I'm simply adding more credence to this fact. Hopefully, the proof is in the pudding.
I don't need to pre-prepare your mind to accept what I'm writing about. But I think you can see how this is very dangerous in the hands of the MSM distributing their bullshit to the masses. The same masses who are still by and large fast asleep and told by the MSM exactly what to think about everything.
This statistic speaks volumes and I'm not engineering it in any way for my personal agenda. Research has found that 59% of people only click on the headline of any given article on any given website. This 59% don't go on to read any part of the article whatsoever.
Going back to our friends in the MSM, they know all this and more. Hence, the headline is the main part of their job. It must be as intriguing and sensational as possible and a complete load of bollocks as necessary, dependent on the agenda at hand.
I'd love to think this will make you look at headlines in a completely different way from now on!
There are more tricks and games that they use, much more, some highly-nuanced and some obvious. "Clever" language and crappy buzzwords are just two examples. How often do we see the term "alt-right" nowadays? The reason; to drag up the standard negative image of the Nazis in order to defame someone before the article about them has even started! That's if the reader gets past the headline of course...
How many phobias are there at the moment? I know loads of new ones have sprung up in the last decade or so, many of them completely ignoring what the word "phobia" actually means. Then there's your common household racist, sexist, bigot and fascist,etc... All truly terrible descriptive words thrown around with gay abandon like chimpanzees chucking their own shit all over the place at the zoo. People don't like chimp crap hurled in their face so how is this acceptable?
Here's the beauty of the current climate though. These words have quickly become more and more meaningless. People have begun to realise that those hurling such insults do so because they literally have no actual coherent argument. Not to mention that these words have been massively overused and thus diluted. If the far-left believes everyone else is a Nazi then it takes away that exclusivity of being a Nazi. It's also a huge kick in the teeth to those who were actual victims of the REAL Nazis.
Oooh, I said "far-left" in the example above. Seems even I'm not impervious to using buzzwords...
The MSM are not the only ones who use these methods. Facebook and other social media use the Kuleshov Effect to brainwash their users to their specific agenda. In Facebook's case, it's yet again the agenda of the Deep State. They're in the same battleship as the MSM, the "HMS Deep State Puppets". They combine this with their built-in addiction hooks created by their very own "Attention Engineers". These are people who have usually worked in the gambling industry and now work to make Facebook and the like addictive. They're literally messing with us all psychologically; make no mistake, this is how modern warfare is being fought.
Corrupt and addictive, that's not a good combo. I believe everyone should have a long hard think about their usage of such platforms.
If you didn't realise how much you were being psychologically manipulated, how does all this make you feel? It annoys me whenever I watch "The News" or adverts/commercials on TV because I know how much thought has gone into every piece being the most efficient brainwashing tool possible.
Please, don't take my word for it. Or anyone else's for that matter. I would advise everyone to visit multiple sources to cross-reference the information you're being given. I am no authority on anything any more than the next person. But I write about what I believe are objective opinions formed from consulting various (often conflicting) sources.
It doesn't mean I'm not biased but it does mean that I'm not corrupt, I certainly have no agenda other than the truth. No gimmicks or mind games here, just what I believe. That's a lot more than can be said for the Deep State weapon known as the Mainstream Media.
