Most of us have heard the term mind over matter, but have we considered mind over information? The exchange of information in the (dis)information age has created an overload of knowledge, for better and for much worse. As such, cognition is the range of what has been perceived, discovered, or learned. The understanding of circumstances, gained through association or experiences of information can lead to a multitude of emotional states of mind.
Unreasonable reactions to information can trigger a self-defeating spiral, particularly for those prone to anxiety and depression. However, if you can learn to switch your mindset a bit and practice mind over information, this can have a great impact on your life and yourself in general. In fact, the idea that your own mind can change your world almost seems too good to be true. But it can be done and will have lasting effects.
Mind over matter is a phrase that essentially refers to one's ability to use will power over physical limitations. The limitations whether they be physical or mental hinder us from reaching our full potential. Therefore, it is important for us to believe that we are nothing less than powerful in our determination to succeed. Likewise, information that we digest can have both limiting or successful social interactions based on our reactions.
Social Media vs Mind Over Information
As technology widens the spectrum's of all sorts of discourse, the emergence of computers, the Internet, social media platforms and smart phones, we should take a new look at how technology shapes social discourse in particular. With social networking we share ourselves in ways we never dreamed of doing face to face. Today, our favorite websites with their comments section has become a toxic battleground.
All to often we read an article and race to scroll down to the bottom of the page in order to be entertained by the comments section. We might say to ourselves, "let's see what others have to say about this" and proceed to read the opinions and responses of an entire community. One thing we can always count on, is that some people will always find someone or something to blame for whatever they dislike.
Some news websites create an artificial sense of constant crisis. This can lead to a community that seems to have gone to war with itself. Over and over we read toxic comments to the point we see the same names posting on every article, giving us a sense of their personality, beliefs and behavior. Social patterns emerge, topics are hijacked and takes on a new life of its own, often at the expense of someone else's feelings.
The moral implication of antisocial Internet behavior has produced what academics are calling "Internet Fatigue". Behavioral science majors are claiming these toxic environments are creating social, psychological and emotional distress at unprecedented levels. While the Internet can serve as a catalyst for productivity, it can also drastically affect the trends in behavior of people and does so without fail.
This is were Mind Over Information should apply. When we humans get to a point that we are subjected to a constant battle of ideologies, antisocial behavior, toxic environments from social communities, then there is a dire need for personal moderation. If one reads a comment and is compelled to create a new account to lash out at a specific person, this is a sign that mind over information should be considered.
At what point do we take personal responsibility for our behavior and reactions? At any given situation, we have the mental capacity to respond with a myriad of emotions, but most seem to go off into the negative realms of behavior. Since when do we as keyboard participants deny our own capacity to control our emotions? Do we blame others for how we make ourselves feel? Should we not take a moment and say "wait a minute, why am I all worked up over a bunch of hostile screen names posting toxic and hateful comments".
Some people are so modulated by information that it becomes a habitual fight in there minds to attack anything they do not agree with. This is a primitive response mechanism that for the most part has forced their own moderation. This moderation comes in the form of Big Tech censoring this type of behavior from posting toxic comments. Ironically, these people will then curse the system and cry foul.
Freedom of speech is not the freedom to behave like an animal, so it begs the question. Shouldn't the desire to self moderate supersede being moderated by Big Tech - rhetorical question. If we as human beings have the capacity to use mind over matter when we are in physical pain or able to block out physical limitation by will power alone, then we most certainly have to power of Mind Over Information and use that power to block out the same toxicity from renting a place in our minds.
Actions, cognition's and emotions do not run independently of each other, their proper interaction enables you to perceive the world around you, listen to your inner wishes and respond appropriately to people in your surroundings. When information over rules behavior, then we are not exercising freedom of choice, but giving that freedom over to information. Information should be an exchange, not a reaction...
Mainstream News vs Mind Over Information
Ever since the repeal of the Smith Mundt Act, freeing the State Department to direct its broadcasting arm at American citizens, MSM has become a divide and conquer mechanism. Now that it can use propaganda in its purest form, MS-News has fomented social divide on a grand scale. News no longer has to be news worthy, it just has to convince you of their agenda.
Fake News is now a common denominator and very few people realize they are being fed false information, from race baiting to character assassinations. Following their Hollywood brethren, mainstream news is nothing more than an extension of drama based programming. Opinion news is just that, an opinion. Some people don't realize news has become opinionated, steering the public psyche at their command.
Talk shows such as "The View" are another part of the propaganda machine. Everything from the brethren printed publication, magazines, rags and television programs are all working in concert to promote the demoralization of the nations people. The information propagated is a massive war against the entire heritage, values, morals and ethics of nation states. Why are we letting "Brethren News" control our reality? Why are we prone to watching fake news? Are we complicit in our own demise?
Just about every single person we see on nightly news, including talk shows, is the enemy of the legacy and history of a nation. When news agitates, foments, condones and advocates for everything morally and ethically wrong with a nation, it's time to exercise Mind over Information. When news protects illegal aliens over it's legacy citizens, it's time to put Mind over Information into high gear and run from the thoughts and feelings created by it.
If you find yourself upset over mainstream news and the images, narratives and talking points, it's time to tune out that information from becoming your opinion and your reality. This does not mean to dig a hole and put your head in the sand, but it does mean, that you should not allow any mainstream news to control your feelings, believes and motivations. We are being torn apart from the inside, not because of the information we receive, but how we react to that information.
When we give opposition to any given subject, we are playing into the hands of the puppet master news agencies. If we get bent out of shape over certain information, it doesn't change the situation, nor does it make things better for anyone. Being mad and upset over what they want you to be mad and upset about, gives them the change "they " want, not the change you want. The best thing to do is to be aware of the information and take your reactions out of the equation.
Some people get the feeling that as long as they bicker and complain among themselves in a chat community, someone is going to take note and make the change for us. That change will only come when we stop reacting to bad information and instead of being upset, we engage the perpetrators themselves. If Joe Schmo news reporter is putting out information that we don't agree with, then we should engage Joe Schmo, not each other. We can effect change by taking the war to the source, the reporter, the news agency and government.
Whether or not you realize it, by immersing yourself in listening to all of the negative news around the world and all the fear based information that you are allowing yourself to take in and absorb, your individual consciousness is being affected at a subconscious level and as a result the physical aspects of your life are also being effected. Thus, you are allowing disinformation to be your minds eye and belief system.
Collective Consciousness vs Mind Over Information
I don't have to go into much detail in this matter because in this day and age we are very well aware of consciousness. However, universal consciousness operates as one. Why shouldn't we? The universal mind, which pervades the entire universe, is all knowing, all powerful, all creative and always present everywhere at the same time. It operates as a collective, giving rise to a unity that allows all things material to exist. This unity allows the cosmos, its galaxies, solar systems and planets to operate in unison. We are apart of that collective.
The power of the people is in unity. As a collective, we can overrule any situation that is thrown at us. But it first starts with erasing the negative reactions to information. The power of collective prayer has a legitimate purpose. This doesn't necessarily mean you get on your knees and pray to a god, but to use your thoughts in a mass collective to effect change. If we all came together and used our free will to focus intent as a collective, instead of dwelling on disinformation, we would be able to manifest change with relative ease.
The power of intent is amplified exponentially when that intent is focused by huge groups of people. Regardless of whether you are aware of it or not or whether you believe it or not, this pool of collective thought energy plays an extremely important role and if allowed can affect the outcomes which make up every aspect of your life. Now imagine a billion individual thoughts focusing our intent into the infinite field of potentials. We would be omnipotent and that's what the ruling elite want to prevent at all costs.
Government vs Mind Over Information
Governments rarely if at all, speaks of you having rights as a nation or that you have collective rights. You will seldom hear governments refer to national rights, or group rights, they will always refer to you as an individual, that you as a single person have the right to life, liberty, freedom and happiness. This is were we are at our weakest. We are programmed to believe in individuality. This is a divide and conquer methodology. As a collective, we would be a powerful force for change that we want.
The armies of a nation do not operate as a bunch of individuals doing individual things, they operate as a team, as a collective, this is the power of a collective. An army can only be effective if every one is on the same page, so establishments will try to convince you to be an individual, that you have individual rights, but this is the weakness and they exploit that so you do not become a team against their agenda.
Look at it like this, does the government of nations operate as a bunch of individuals? Absolutely not, they are a team. They are a collective, a group, a conglomerate, a gang and mob families. While two party systems give the appearance of opposition for checks and balances, they are all on the same team. This is the key to their control. They mind control us and have us convinced we are to believe in the individual. If governments operated as individuals, bickering as individuals, all pointing the finger at each other, then they would be even more in-effective than they already are. As are we when we are divided up as individuals.
If we were to become a team of 7 billion, their estimated 30 million established oligarchs and gang members controlling the world, would be stamped out of existence over night. Subverted governments, mainstream news, talk shows, Hollywood and all their lobbyist organizations are all the same entity. They are working together to usher in their New World Order and are using weaponized information to subvert you, we the people. Mind over information will put a dent in their operations if we modulate our reactions and opinions of any given subject.
If government policies are subjugating your lifestyle, it's best not to engage others about the issues, but engage your own government - let it be known to them we are not happy. Complaining and arguing with each other is the distraction they hope you fall for and most do. They want you divided among each other, so that they can continue operations as usual. Diverting your attention to government officials will yield better results than bickering on websites, social media and other digital mediums.
Information controls most peoples realities. When those who let information become their view of world events, they are no longer in control of their reality, its made for them. When a community of people sit on the comments section on a website, arguing and fighting themselves over what is said about a given article, they have just spent that time, doing nothing more than complain about the subject.
Some websites have tens of thousands of users replying to the comment sections going full retard with each other, when that time and that amount of people could be directing that energy to complaining and arguing with there governments who are causing the issue to begin with. Imagine if 100,000 people wrote a letter to their representatives, instead of posting toxic comments over some chat service.
When we have people who get crazy from watching mainstream news stories and flips out on others, never realizing this creates a paradox of endless debate, toxic behavior and mindless reactions instead of taking that debate to their government. Mind over information is taking responsibility for your reactions and redirecting them to the place it should be, going after your government, your news agencies and representatives.
Practicing Mind Over Information will reduce the demoralizing effects of programmed individuals, increasing your own awareness and will promote a healthy way to deal with the problem reaction solution paradigms. We all have the ability to react with a wide range of emotional responses. When we decide as a collective, that toxic behavior is not effecting any change where it needs be, perhaps we all can organize as one people and take out the issue from the source.
Mind Over Information costs nothing, it doesn't take up anyone's time but your own and it would promote a clear mind free of toxic information that will open our eyes to the cause and effects of disinformation campaigns designed to upset all sides to a story. When we grow out of the knee jerk reaction phase, then we can then begin to unite as one powerful source and promote real change by using a calm cool collected approach and make changes by redirecting that energy to the source of the problem, the corrupted governments and their drama based mainstream news mouth pieces.
As with Mind Over Matter, Mind Over Information can be a valuable asset in our human psyche. We can use our will power to negate the negative effects of Internet toxicity and overcome the negative feelings and reactions of disinformation. While we would like to engage community forums with our own opinion and knowledge, if we spent that time engaging the government, we would be in a better position to effect real change. The power in numbers we see on social media platforms can have the potential to be a force to be reckoned with, if only we focused our responses to leadership, rather than each other...
