'People begging on the streets of Hyderabad, India, are being rounded up by police ahead of a summit to be attended by Ivanka Trump.
For the next two months, begging has been made an offence in the southern Indian city and more than 6,000 people are expected to be detained in a rehabilitation facility, Indian media reported.
The Global Entrepreneurship Summit (GES) event, an annual meeting of investors and people starting new businesses, is set to run from 28 November to 30 November, and this year is focused on the theme of “empowering women”.
The local government is apparently keen on presenting the city as a global capital and so far nearly 400 people have been removed from the streets as preparations for the visit continue.'
