Clinton Claims Responsibility for Libya Events to Save Obama on Eve of Debate

'“I take responsibility,” Clinton said during a Monday night interview with major American news broadcaster CNN. “I want to avoid some kind of political gotcha.”
The remarks by the top American diplomat, which came on the eve of the second presidential debate between incumbent Democratic President Obama and the Republican contender Romney, served as a clear indication that she was attempting to avert the growing Republican criticism of Obama for failing to adequately protect US diplomats abroad and making contradictory statements on the killing of four Americans at the US Consulate in the Libyan city of Benghazi on September 11, including Ambassador Christopher Stevens.'
