US, EU Pressuring Lebanon to Support Insurgents in Syria, Beirut Newspaper Says

'According to a report published in the Arabic-language Lebanese daily al-Akhbar, US and European officials have forcefully asked the Lebanese government to adopt a supportive stance toward the so-called Free Syrian Army and to facilitate the activities of its members.
The report added that Lebanese officials are perplexed and anxious due to the demands and do not know what they should do if the situation in Syria takes a turn for the worse.
Meanwhile, President Michel Sleiman and several other Lebanese officials have emphasized the need for a political solution to the Syrian crisis.'
