Activists Launch Campaign Against UK Secret Courts

'Civil liberties groups have launched a nationwide campaign to express opposition against the coalition government’s controversial plans for secret courts, seen as an attempt to hide Britain’s complicity in torture.
The London-based human rights organization CagePrisoners set up a broad campaign at an event in Westminster on September 24 against the British government’s plans to introduce secret trials in to the country’s judicial system. Accusing the Tory-led government of trying to place itself above the law, the campaigners said they aim to block recent attempts to “turn Britain into a state of secrets.”'
