UK Plotting to Derail Scottish Vote on Independence

‘The UK government has discussed plans to make any referendum on Scotland leaving the UK legally binding, declaring an 18 months deadline on the issue.

The deadline was announced by Prime Minister David Cameron, who claimed the uncertainty about the issue was hurting Scotland’s economy. Speaking ahead of a cabinet meeting at which the issue was discussed, Cameron said that the uncertainty about the independence issue could have economic consequences.’
