What You Get from ‘Medical’ Radiation

Saturday 24 December 2011

‘Of the firemen who attended the Chernobyl meltdown, 27 of the first 28 died within a few weeks from receiving 4 sieverts of radiation exposure. The maximum accepted safety level is 1 millisievert (milli) over the standard level of 2.5 millisieverts per year = 3.5 millisieverts per year.

However, in a Radiotherapy session the tumour dies after absorbing 40 sieverts of Ionising Radiation (10 times the level that killed the Chernobyl firemen). The surrounding cells receive 20 sieverts, (5 times the level which killed the firemen) delivered in minutes, which is some 20,000 times the yearly exposure safety limit for the human body.’
