Royal Wedding Costs Spark Anger in UK

‘A new survey has found that more than a third of the British people believe the royal wedding should not be funded by taxpayers’ money. The survey commissioned by YouGov poll shows that a total of 36 percent of those questioned said it is not a good use of the public purse.

The YouGov survey also found that 29 percent of people in the UK believe the impending nuptials of Prince William and Kate Middleton are inappropriate in the current economic climate as the coalition government’s spending cuts are gradually beginning to bite. This percentage has increased to 35 percent among the jobless and 41 percent for students.’
