Tail Wags The Dog

I have written twice to every County Councillor on the Isle of Wight where I live outlining the basic background (all that is allowed by the draconian Family Court secrecy laws) to the appalling treatment by Isle of Wight Social Services of a loving mother and her child. 

Only one of them, Councillor Ian Stephens, even bothered to reply. Not a titter, never mind a Twitter, from the rest of them. I wrote to the Island Member of Parliament, the waste-of-space, Andrew Turner, and he said he could not comment on the case, never mind do anything, because of 'data protection laws'. 

Go figure.

Turner: Er, um, duh, doh, er, um, what excuse can I give for doing bugger all?

I made a Freedom of Information Act request to establish how much taxpayers money has been spent on the mother and daughter's case, but the council has refused to reveal the information. 

The truth is that local councils, like governments, are not controlled by elected politicians, be they councillors, MPs, Congressmen or Senators. They are controlled by the lawyers and unelected officers and civil servants who are there whatever the result of a farce 'election'.  

Did you know that the politician that supposedly heads Social Services policy on the Isle of Wight is, as with other councils, not allowed to know about the cases the employee officers and social workers are involved in? They are a law unto themselves. 

Democratic accountability? Sure there is.
