Great effort guys! Here is my attempt Billowing thunder deafens the weak and their temples tumble to the ongoing rumble Their fears manifest in a dream so bleak their cruelty crumbles to the almighty grumble They will not sacrifice the chains which keep them in tether They could not accept the truth which would bring them together 'oh have mercy' they will cry in their glorious masses and mercy they will get once the realisation passes Speak now, or forever hold your Peace We have not been silent nor have we been weak We have been taking a deep breath Before we started to speak Our voices will be as billowing thunder deafening the weak

*dreamy, glinty eyes*
Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaah there you are, found you at last; feeling so carelessly lost in the past. Breeze through a tunnel, sweeping my soul; ecstatic sensation, making me whole. Beautiful state. Better than great. Dreamer in heaven, ahhhhhh fuck the poem xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

We make time to debate religion
Passing bills and building prisons For building fortunes and passing judgements When will there be a time to love At this point in history we have a choice to make To either walk a path of love Or be crippled by our hate We have time to cause pollution We have time to cause confusion All wrapped up in our own illusions When will there be a time to love We make time to conquer nations Time for oil exploration Hatred, violence and terrorism When will there be a time to love At this moment in time We have a choice to make Father God is watching While we cause mother earth so much pain It's such a shame Not enough money for The young, the old and the poor But for war there is always more When will there be a time to love We make time for paying taxes Or paying bills and buying status But we will pay the consequences If we don't make the time to love Now's the time to pay attention Yes now is the time - to love A time love - love A time to love Please please won't you tell me When will there be a time to love Mohsin Zubair Khan

I AM
One became two, and two became four. I Multiplied, to win the war. He and She, I used to be. All of you, are parts of Me. Black to white, I AM all colors, from dark shades, to the light. When you see, you're part of Me, then you'll be in the right.

back again that
spaghetti flavoured jazz is ripping me ears apart like lost first love in our hearts. travelling in every direction immediately the segments get bigger and bigger gaps so conclude that we grow. juicier. dried out like moustache and possible left bank beret while fingers a click like chinese water torture. and when the xylophone clicks in patrick moore stylee i know that not drinking coffee was a wise decision. cartoon blood veins swell my eyeballs like throbbing gristle and involuntary spasm descend like base jumper 1 in 6 that hit the cliff or far more colourful hit the pylon. sizzle. and some years later at first visit to new dentist his gurned teeth will mirror mine as he says hey! you look like a jazz fan. |

More of a rant than a poem...
There's no rubbish bins anymore at the train stations But the terrorists aren't Irish now, apparently they're all Asians. We were told to fear the Russians and now it's the Bin Ladens We used to have backyards but now it's decking and terraced gardens. We lived in the outskirts and went into town Now for some reason it's the other way around Out of town shopping and city centre dwelling Urban living and suburban selling. It's all Ikea now and C.G.I. Time's running out for Rolf and M.F.I. It's 2 n half quid a pint or 3 quid for a coffee But I can't smoke a fag with me beer unless I stand outside the offy, But then I'll get an asbo for hanging round me local Cos being outdoors with me friends is very anti-social. Where there's blame there's now a claim J'accuse pop idol of peddling fame It's not what you can do or even who you know It's only what they can get from you to boost the ratings of their show Christmas number 1 is the carrot that they'll dangle "Is your Granny dieing? That'd give us an angle!" Me mums got bird flu, me dad's got S.A.R.S. I've carved your name in me arm, look at all those scars I took to the razor, I had to do something vile It was the only thing I could think of to get on Jeremy Kyle Look at me mum, I'm on the box Touching me cock and showing me socks Took a D.N.A. test and lie detector Me girlfriends got chlamydia but I swear I didn't infect her. But there's hundreds of channels now that need to be filled There's music for the teens and shopping for the weak willed Cartoons for the toddlers, cars and comedy for 'Dave' There's pixelated tits and muff for the sexually depraved 4x4s guzzling the oil that causes wars on foreign soils Me TomTom's broke now I'm stuck on the drive I've only got an A-Z, I'll never arrive I've got WiFi, Sky plus and unlimited texts It's amazing what you can afford when you consolidate your debts The safest sex now is done by text And if I want the real thing there's always the net I've met this gorgeous girl and I know just how to please her It's easy enough, I just give her the number for my Visa But I can't get a lump sum cause I've got no equity And child benefit's not an option since I had my vasectomy There's peadophile lesbian immigrants living in Sale I know this is true cos it was in the Daily Mail I'm waiting for a minor operation on the NHS I've got more chance of buying an interactive VHS Nobody goes on strike anymore, there's nobody on the pickets They've all got fluorescent jackets now and they ask to see your tickets Clubbers used to be on ecstasy having one huge weekend love in Now they sit in the corner paralysed by ketamine I went to the bank to see if they'd extend me overdraft They took a look at me credit rating then they just laughed I was gonna go to Downing Street and stick it to 'the man' but that's not covered by my insurance plan If you're wondering why my outlook seems so dark That's what happens when you stop smoking and listen to John Cooper Clarke |

Thank yee kindly, and now for something completely substandard...
I wish I had no money then I'd know just what to buy I wish I had no problems then I'd have the right to sigh I wish I had the answer then I could ask the question 'why?' I wish I had been born then I'd have the right to die I wish that you were me then I could ask you 'who am I?' I wish you were asleep then I could look you in the eye I wish I knew the truth then I'd have the chance to lie I wish that I had wings then I'd have no need to fly I wish my watch was working then time could pass me by I wish that life was harder then I wouldn't have to try I wish I knew who you were then I could ask you 'who am I?' I wish suicide was painless then no-one would want to die I wish I wasn't hetro so I could wish I wasn't gay I wish that life was retro so I could live for yesterday I wish I had an atlas so I could really lose my way I wish I had no tongue then I'd have something to say I wish I had a peer group then I could lead them all astray I wish everything was priceless then I'd know how much to pay I wish that kids were grown ups so we could all go out to play I wish that I was homeless then I'd have somewhere to stay I wish it was tomorrow so I could remember today I wish I was familiar with the meaning of 'au fait' I wish you were open minded then your opinions wouldn't sway I wish you could come back sometimes but you never go away |

This one is an old chum that I still love very much...
LOVE YOURSELF Sorrow seems to have taken possession of your soul Bitterness overwhelms you so much it is beyond your control Your eyes are a dam for tears eager to be free They are like windows to a lonely house flooding out to sea Catch your spirit before too late and take a firm hold Find warmth within your heart to prevent it from freezing cold Lift up your head even if it is heavy with tons of grief Do whatever it takes to bring yourself some relief Just don’t blame everyone around you, the ones who love you The world isn't against you and nor does it revolve around only you I know my words aren’t wisdom but I believe in them myself I’ve learned that if there is no one to love you, you can love yourself My suggestions are the last thing you’d like ringing through your ears I think its time to break the cycle of all these sullen years Hurry now or you’ll be lost in an endless oblivion Trying to search for your wilted soul in the midst of millions Others like you who has given up on life and its baggage Even though it was a gift its no fancy package Who said it would be easy and flowing on like a river You can live in peace when love is all you have to deliver And it will all come back to you somewhere along the line It could come tomorrow or perhaps in a next lifetime Why wait around for the moment you’ve been waiting for When the answers you seek are on the other side of the door Listen to me and hear me before you begin falling apart Hear what I say and end the haunting cries drifting from your heart Everyone can hear them even though it seems you don’t Only death will stop the suffering if you won’t And if you’re convinced that there is no hope and times are hard Love yourself and realize that within your skin, you are a god

Some good poems on here.....
Here's one i wrote in 96 when i first woke up to myself..... AWAKENING Ive been losing my religion Reassuring my BIRTHRIGHT Taking pleasure in mind and soul Destroying negativity Replacing lost energy Looking at my environment Retracing my footsteps Sorting out my emotions Its ever so sweeter Its so much brighter In this new world i see When everything i touch is there for me Nobody tells you when the time is right Cut off from your senses Your mind is taken over Free your head and weep your tears Feelings so long denied Will come flowing back in time Confusion will be gone You'll wake up every morning With a better realization dawning........... hope you like it guys......straight from the heart......Godspeed the day |

"As old as the hills" the McArthur Clan No one knows from whence they came "By faith and work" their motto was You lived and breathed by the same To the loyal, faithful head of our clan In death may you become anew, Walking in landscapes untouched by man And until the day we walk with you....... Lend your hand to guide us Your strength to defend us Let us not from the sight of your eye When the road ahead seems long And the way, too far Lend us your courage to try Send your words in the air Leave your laughter in rooms On the grass, be the morning dew But all of these things and the memories they bring Will never be as magnificent as you

That's lovely zenith.
I'm a bit embarassed to post mine. I was trying to write a poem without reverting to rhyming like I usually do. ![]() First Love When we meet I shall grow beautiful under his gaze As I blossom the pink petals of my happiness will coat the ground The sun will brighten Clouds will dissipate Soft music will play in my ears and Every song will have richer meaning Butterflies will flutter in my heart But should he shun me I will whither and die No water will quench my thirst No food will nourish me I will be less than nothing A shadow, a ghost Until my soulmate comes to me once more

Varieties of Thought
Infinite numbers not yet realized to be written acknowledgements of their own present existences. Nothing is something that can’t ever be found Forever is timeless and bound by nothing. I am an expression of WE which is NOW only temporarily separated by I. Never promise to never say never. Intuitive judgement is the inner voice of reason. Tomorrow will be today which will at one point suddenly become the yesterday of today’s tomorrow. Experience through the subconscious desire to explore infinite possible realities simultaneously with this one while observing beyond the current suggested perspective. Without One there cannot be any variety of All. We Are Connected. Thanks, and have a good ONE.

hapiness leaks a drop at a time
so slowly it goes un-noticed dreams get dimmer reality fades humanity hides away by the time we are stuck in the endless rut of scraping in life's vast wasteland we no longer see lifes beauty is being as the spiral goes endlessly downward we trudge on through life unhappy at best even good food is missing something what can we do? we wonder at times to get rid of our hearts aching sorrow 'It will come right,' our minds do insist if not today then tomorrow we join in a clan of down-trodden people our bond is our sharing of sorrow when out of the blue we see a sparkle of light unusual the way it is different a power so strong it awakens our hearts smiles seep in through the darkness yet afraid we become and our worries increase as the clan might now lose a member so we argue with light while we know it is right yet a few re-awaken their embers while the rest of our clan then scream 'Oucast! Ban!' one or two even try to do murder so those who pretend to be people of honour often miss the point directly that a heart with no warmth is the anger they fear they become what they think is the enemy sometimes the clan sees enough of the light to realize we are simply human apologies true allow us the view of seeing that people are different they all have their ways and none are the same which method of living is sacred? so when you have joy and your life is content remember you're spiraling upwards even though the crowds call you outcast outloud does not mean that you are a defect it is better to be happy you see than to live in a mind of remembrance BlueMental Last edited by bluemental; 27-01-2010 at 10:16 PM. |

An old one I wrote ages ago... btw, love all the poems ppl
![]() The spell of sunrise breaks, So on cracks the day Long summer nights as warm as a furnace, Sniffing the long, tattered hay... A small ginger cat has come our way With twinkling eyes Like burning comets Stalking the barn with ease A strange hazy glow surrounds it, A mystical cat, it seems. The small cat turns to us, Hissing from deep in his throat Far away, a million calls: "My cat, where are thy?" And the cat looks to the left And then, with one last glance He disappears. The calls stop. The sun rises... And the cockerel crows again.

The closer that you stand to me
The more distant I become I know the rules of your game It is me that's having fun Before my eyes, a transformation As if to redifine my form Illusion at the mirror reality beside the norm A sure thing they must have thought A plan unfolding your own demise In 'those' hours, a mere observer One after the other, compromised |

I wrote this last summer...
The Turning of the Wheel
A frosty night, An Imbolc Moon, Thin and needle-sharp, Slices through bare branches of the trees. Winter's grasp Grows weaker by the hour. And, in the silence, The whispers of creation Echo through hill and valley. And into every burrow and nest, Patiently awaiting what will be… The wheel turns, of life and death The stars above, the ground beneath… And under skies of midnight-blue The world is new. A still Spring night, A Beltane Moon, Sails through the stars, Sending soft shadows dancing On dew-soaked, silver-dappled grass. A bird breaks the silence with liquid song, Flying on dusky wings Into the darkness Of the midnight sky. The wheel turns, of life and death The stars above, the ground beneath… The blackbird sings his sacred song, The world is young. A Summer night A Lammas Moon, Swollen and ochre, Rides the Milky Way, Pendant over fertile fields of yellow corn Ripened by sunlight, kissed by golden days And watered by soft July rain. Nature’s bounty in abundance, Every ear in tune To the song of creation. The wheel turns, of life and death The stars above, the ground beneath… Night winds sing their song serene, The world is green. An Autumn night A Samhain moon, Hiding behind a patchy shroud of fog. Smoky air dulls the pallid stars. The silent misty land, shadowy and still, Draws down the secret whispers of the night. Damp half-naked trees shed russet leaves, Give back their glory to the Earth, As they make ready To sleep once more. The wheel turns, of life and death The stars above, the ground beneath… Under a blanket black and gold The world is old. A Winter night, A Yule moon, Luminous and diamond-hard Against glitter-strewn skies. Frosted trees etch lacy patterns over cold December stars. And in the secret places, The wild creatures sleep, And wait for Spring. The wheel turns, of life and death The stars above, the ground beneath… And frozen in a wintry bed The world is dead. The wheel turns...
