Default Record Cold plus Snow

Quote:
Tuesday October 13, 2009 Calgary , Canada

Fresh snow the day after Canadian Thanksgiving and a record low temperature of -16.1C was set in Calgary. We were not alone as low temperatures were shattered across Alberta, British Columbia, and many northern states such as northern Idaho and Montana. The record high temperatures of 32C (91F) less than 3 weeks ago are a distant memory.

This was the first snow of the year in Omaha. We recieved 3.5 inches of snow at the airport with 5.7 at our house. This was the second earliest 1 inch snow ever recorded in Omaha. The earliest was October 9th. Along with the cold and snow, we had a record low of 27 degrees on the morning of the 10th and a record low high of 41 during the afternoon. Most of the snow was gone by the end of the day.

Default What happened to Autumn??!!

Quote:
Saturday October 10, 2009 Saint Paul, MN (Current Conditions)

Seems we rushed through autumn and got to winter before the leaves even had chance to fully turn! This shot is a healthy green raspberry bush, even still producing, that was until (an unseasonably early?) snow fell on it.

This photo was taken in two shots and stitched together. An early fall snow brought out the crimson red of the fall vegetation.

Our first snowfall of the year and it was a doozy! A little spot of morning sun made for a nice accent on the terrain going to work. Roads weren't too bad considering.

Default ManBearPig needs a winter coat

Has Al Gore taken a break from blowing hot air out of his ass perhaps.

Consistent below average temps for Adelaide also, lots of snowfall in VIC and NSW alps.

Default Snow Wonder

Quote:
Sunday October 4, 2009 Gardnerville, NV (Current Conditions)

In all my years living here, I've never seen snow fall this heavy, this early in the season. The lake enhanced snow from Tahoe left behind a narrow swath of accumulations between 6 and 10 inches. The surrounding area remained dry and left a dramatic scene.
