Well seeing as we don't all live in the US or on UT, one would assume that it will be ongoing for 24 hours, wouldn't one, through all time zones ?

Time is manmade. How would a manmade invention have an effect on naturally occuring events like earthquakes? Are you saying these events will be created through manmade manipulation?

and of course it doesn't work anyway if you put the date like most of the world do dd/mm/yyyy, not mm/dd/yyyy
