Baxter International are trying to get out a vaccine extra fast for the Swine Flu.

Sounds familiar?

It should do. They are the people who recently contaminated Flu vaccine with live bird flu virus. They also caused the deaths of at least 81 people and 785 serious injuries due to heparin contamination in 2008 (not long ago!) and they were one of the companies involved in contaminating up to 10,000 Haemophiliacs with HIV due to their policy of paying for blood donations from prisoners, drug addicts and homosexuals at a time when AIDS was known as the gay plague.

Would you trust Baxter International to provide a vaccine for you or your loved ones?

2008 Chinese heparin contamination

In March 2008, major recalls of heparin were announced by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) due to contamination of the raw heparin stock imported from China.[1][2][3]

The heparin was processed in China from pig's intestines by the American pharmaceutical firm Scientific Protein Laboratories.[3][4][5] The U.S. Food and Drug Administration was quoted as stating that at least 81 deaths were believed linked to a raw heparin ingredient imported from the People's Republic of China, and that they had also received 785 reports of serious injuries associated with the drug’s use.[6] According to the New York Times, "Problems with heparin reported to the agency include difficulty breathing, nausea, vomiting, excessive sweating and rapidly falling blood pressure that in some cases led to life-threatening shock."[4]

The contaminant has been identified as an "over-sulphated" derivative of chondroitin sulfate, a popular shellfish-derived supplement often used for arthritis.[3][7] Since this "over-sulphated" variant is not naturally occurring and mimics the properties of heparin, the counterfeit is almost certainly intentional as opposed to an accidental lapse in manufacturing.[8] The heparin was cut from anywhere from 2-60% with a counterfeit substance due to cost effectiveness, and a shortage of suitable pigs in China.

When the FDA finally did conduct an inspection of Baxter's Chinese Heparin supplier, it found serious deficiencies at the facility which the FDA detailed in a letter to the Chinese company. The FDA has stated that it does not have the funds nor bear the responsibility to inspect on a regular basis overseas manufacturers of active pharmaceutical ingredients such as heparin.

In November 2008, the FDA seized eleven lots of heparin from Celsus Laboratories Inc., a manufacturer in Cincinnati, Ohio.

2009 avian flu contamination
The Austrian pharmaceutical firm, Baxter International, sent a flu vaccine, which it had accidentally contaminated with the deadly H5N1 bird flu virus, for testing in the Czech Republic, a report said Tuesday [3/3/2009]. The Austrian firm Baxter said it contaminated the vaccine with the dangerous virus by accident, likely during packaging in Austria, the Mlada Fronta Dnes daily reported, citing Baxter's representative. Baxter shipped the infected vaccine to the Czech biomedical firm Biotest for testing on ferrets in late January. None of Biotest's employees, who had been exposed to the highly pathogenic virus for a week, contracted the disease. According to the World Health Organization figures, the bird flu has killed 254 people, mostly in Asia and Africa, including four deaths reported in Turkey. The Czech Republic's chief epidemiologist Michael Vit said that it was unclear whether the Biotest workers had been under a high risk of infection as the Czech authorities did not know how much virus the vaccine contained. Officials, however, hinted that the situation could have been serious. "Thank God it did not spread," Vit said. The Czech company managed to prevent the virus from spreading outside the lab to poultry breeds, which would have had to be culled in such an event. "If it were to spread to poultry farms it would have caused serious problems," said Josef Duben, a spokesman for the Czech State Veterinary Administration. The exposed employees were given Tamiflu medicine and have been regularly tested, Vit said. The infected ferrets had to be culled and the laboratory, which is located 70 kilometres east of the Czech capital Prague, was disinfected.

During the late 1970s and early 1980s, large numbers of hemophiliacs throughout the world became infected with HIV after receiving tainted clotting substances made by Armour Pharmaceutical Company, Bayer Corporation and its Cutter Biological division, Baxter International and its Hyland Pharmaceutical division and Alpha Therapeutic Corporation.[1] Estimates range from 6,000 to 10,000 hemophiliacs in the United States becoming infected with H.I.V.[1][2]

It is believed that three of these companies (Alpha, Baxter and Cutter) recruited and paid donors from high risk populations including former prisoners, injection-drug users, and plasmapheresis centers in prisons (e.g. Arkansas Prison Plasma Scandal) and with large numbers of homosexual donors, especially in cities already having large numbers of these persons to obtain blood plasma used for the production of Factor VIII and Factor IX.[3] These companies allegedly failed to follow United States federal law mandates to exclude donors with a history of viral hepatitis.[3] The medicine was made using pools of plasma from 10,000 or more donors, and since HIV at that time couldn't be screened out, the plasma carried a high risk of passing along the disease
