I am just watching John Harris on tv and just wanted to know what "Freeman-on-the-land" means? In what way is he free? What difference is there form not being a "freeman"? Also his site is down, are there any similar one? Thanks for any help. Laters. Edit. Can you really use common law in todays system? Do you have to be a "freeman on the land" to use common law? And how does one become a freeman of the land? Thanks again. Laters. Last edited by neworderhorizon; 01-01-2009 at 09:18 PM. |

As for common law, it is valid and one of the sources of law in every day use and applicable to everyone. However, I've seen plenty of posts claiming that a given premise is based on common law when it blatently isn't. Along with references to flipping Admiralty Law - an issue that I thought had been thoroughly debunked ages ago it all seems mired in basic lack of understanding. It's a shame as I'd hate to see some of the very live legal issues of the day derailed by all this. But heigh ho, each to their own..... |
