We don't know ourselves! What we know has been passed from our elders. Granted, we don't know as much as the other people on this board. We only know about our little corner of the world.

I read that otters learnt it from flea circus acrobatics. But fleas are even more secretive. So the otters pretended to sleep and used night-vision microscopes to spy on them.
And that is why night-vision and microscopes were invented...before telescopes were.

Damn, that must mean what I read about the fleas was erroneous.
My image of real true history on this matter is shattered.

No, not at all. I checked the ANNALS OF ALL HISTORY.

Ah yes, Aristotle Otter was a great inventor, astronomer and mathmetician.

According to ancient myth he invented the night scope 'so as to illuminate the night as the day'. He patented the idea. Made a fortune. Got arrested for voyerism. He worked it out, though. The charges were dropped.

Afterward, he got the idea for the micro-telescope -so he could keep on eye on those fleas from a safe distance! But the micro-telescope wasn't for everybody, so he consulted with his marketing firm who in turn looked to the R&D department and they came up with the regular telescope, and the hoola - hoop!

David Carradine in Kung Fu was originally going to have a pet flea.
but the studio scrapped the idea because they couldn't risk the truth coming out

ah so () that makes sense, I remember the stories of Aristotle Otter for my Otter History class at night school, but it was all Anti-Otter Propaganda (probably originating from those evil mudcrabs).
they said he was married to a skunk, and stole all his ideas off a particularly intelligent oyster. of course it's all lies and slander.

The mudcrab has been trying to get voted into the council for some time now. Admittedly, the council is dominated by the fur bearing woodland creatures with the occasional reptile or amphibian. The mudcrabs really aren't all that bad, they just feel they haven't received their due and sometimes they go to lengths to promote themselves. You do have to keep your eye on them, though...........So you can find the and prepare them for dinner!

And sometimes the oysters can come up with a pearl of wisdom.

Bwahahaha!! I made a funny! Oysters? Pearl of wisdom? Hahahaha!!!

BUT SERIOUSLY, Aristotle was an otter about town according to legend. It is said he had knew many 'ladies of the fur'.

Since I like this thread I gave it a rating. The stars jumped from 1 to 3.
I guess I screwed up and the thread was meant to be laying low.
Now it is on the radar.

That's OK, it never occurred to me to even rate it. The people stopping by have been very nice and fun.
