We have a customer who just so happens to share the name of a fictional television/movie character.

I was just informed that we are to receive him as a guest this afternoon in the office.

I am NOT making this up. His name is

No, not 'William Shatner'.

I spoke with him on the phone several weeks ago, very nice. He joked and said the TV had to pay him for use of the name.

Turns out our customer, Mr. J. K., will be coming to confirm that we correctly performed our service per his requirements. He should have already been here, but I understand he other business in town today so maybe he'll pop in later.

Truth is, he couldn't find his ad in our paper and we were going to show him that it was indeed printed and where it was located. This happens often, not unusual; several times throughout the week we must pin down people's ads for them as they can be easy to overlook.

Perhaps he found his ad and was satisfied and saw no need to visit us.

I was kinda glad he didn't visit as I would have to make a very conscious effort to remember to call him 'Mr.' and not 'Captain'. I'm sure the poor man has heard 'Captain' jokes for the past 40+ years.

Reminds me of the time several years ago when I had a customer whose name is very similar to the entertainer's name Anthony Newley. I slipped up during conversation and called him Mr. Newley. Boy, did he read me the riot act.

I found out from coming to this forum that in Canada we get Dr. Who episodes weeks later than the UK.
So now I download the BBC episodes and watch them.
I am 2 weeks ahead of the rest of Canada! Bwa ha haaa
