Steven Spielberg has picked up the film rights to John Wyndham's sci-fi novel Chocky, says The Hollywood Reporter. The book revolves around a boy whose consciousness is taken over by an alien entity. The boy's father's suspicions are triggered when his son begins to argue with his imaginary friend. Wyndham's best known book is The Day Of The Triffids, which became a feature film in 1962. Spielberg hopes to make Chocky his next project, but may face delays as the movie was initially housed at studio Paramount, where his directing deal expired earlier in the year. The helmer's animated Tintin trilogy hit problems last week when Universal declined to split the cost of the $130 million project with Paramount. The project is on hold for the time being while Spielberg hammers out a deal with the studio to foot the entire bill for Tintin film. This guy sure knows how to pick his films,
I remember watching the series of Chocky as a young teen in the 80'S and it was as spooky as hell then. Seems like a strange choice to me, any one else think that.

I remember chocky being on after school when I was a kid, I loved it too
![]() Oddly enough I mentioned it to a friend the other day and they couldn't remember it. This is the first time I've ever heard about it since. |

Because Hollyweird is part of the Elite's predictive programming agenda, they want us busy chasing and believing in aliens and are to blame or will come and save us form the evil aliens that run our Government (of course it's all nonsense) and is meant to deflect attention from reality (evil humans in high places)
Also to spread fear and make us feel helpless against such superior beings. Also a form of entertainment as Plato said "give the slaves bread and circuses" meaning happy slaves are less likely to figure out how corrupt their masters are when they are bust being fed bread and circus (entertainment) The Elite even way back in ancient Greece (Plato's time) Used the same tactics they had plays before the movies. Vaguely remember the original chocy I bet many children and even adults would be scared of Dolls in their own homes after watching that.
The scene in Poltergeist maybe where the litte boy is attacked by a doll like clown really freaked my sister out I had a doll like it.

Yep, John Wyndham was an excellent writer, way ahead of his time and his themes will be well appreciated by those on this site.
Check out also THE CHRYSALIDS, THE MIDWITCH CUCKOOS (Filmed twice as VILLAGE OF THE DAMNED) and many great short tails. ![]() About time that filmakers gave him some attention once more. There was going to be a big screen version of The Chrysalids about ten years ago, I think Simon Wincer was going to direct it, but made The PHANTOM instead. ![]() ![]() Also The Midwich Cukoos is very topical because it's about alien-human hybridization.
