The Home Office has employed M&C Saatchi to mount a marketing blitz ahead of the National Identity Scheme’s launch in November. ID cards will allow the Government to hold the personal details of 60million citizens - including fingerprints and iris patterns - on a central database. Despite this, the Home Office has ordered that all non-EU workers living in Britain hold an ID card as of November. M&C Saatchi will begin the campaign with TV adverts and posters explaining the cards’ ‘benefits’ to a sceptical public. The site invites youngsters to sign up for ID cards on a ‘purely voluntary basis’. Last night, critics labelled the move a ‘desperate spin operation’. Shadow Immigration Minister Damian Green said: ‘This lays bare the level of desperation at a Home Office trying frantically to spin its way out of a terrible policy. ‘The Government ignores just about every independent assessment of the ID scheme, which either finds it too costly or damaging to our civil liberties.’ Under Government plans, ID cards will be held by everyone over 16 from 2017. However, a damning report from the Home Affairs Select Committee warned that ID cards could be used by the Government to spy on its citizens. It said: ‘We are concerned about the surveillance potential of the scheme.’ Matthew Sinclair, of the TaxPayers’ Alliance, said: ‘If the Government still can’t convince people that it is a good idea, then they should accept that rather than spending more public money trying to change people’s minds.’ http://www.dailymail.co.uk/mailonsun...-November.html |

That Should Surprise Me,
That Labour Are Hiring Saatchi And Saatchi But It Doesn't....... Saatchi And Saatchi Media Whores Behind Labours Election Defeat This Is Their Previous Work...: ![]() ![]() Saatchi & Saatchi, which masterminded Margaret Thatcher's three election victories, was appointed to handle the Labour Party's advertising account. The agency secured the multi-million pound contract with the slogan: "Not flash, just Gordon." ![]() The appointment, will heighten speculation that Gordon Brown is planning to call an early election. Saatchi & Saatchi's now legendary poster, which depicted a lengthy queue of unemployed workers snaking into an unemployment office under the heading: "Labour isn't working", is credited with helping Mrs Thatcher win the 1979 general election. ![]() The agency was the first to be appointed by a British political party. It was the agency's biggest publicity coup and one that paid dividends for years to come. Saatchi And Saatchi Probably Satirised By Stephen Fry And John Bird In: Absolute Power. Prentiss and McCabe ( played by Fry and Bird) Prentiss is a man without morals, whose only objectives are money and power. Prentiss and McCabe often find themselves working on behalf of two rival clients, one of whom is often the shadier side of the Labour Government, Saatchi And Saatchi Media Spin Docktoring Whores...!!!!! |

here in edinburgh for our bus services, pensioners special needs and disability etc have had chips been put in the ID cards and the bus companies are slowly introducing this to the general public. with the buses having GPS systems they can now track you where you are when you scan your bus pass . how unfair of them to start on the "weaker" (no offence meant). they have put this info on flyers etc in our newspapers very recently.
im riding a bike as soon as i can afford one.
