I'd prefer Royal to win , but as far as I can tell just about everyone in French politics is corrupt. Sarkoczy will probably win it anyway , the French are swinging to the right just like everyone else.

I love France , lived there in 1993 , I would love to go back. Its the most beautiful country in the world.

I've been to France too and I had a great time there, but its politics are no different to anywhere else. Would any of these guys have got into a position to become the Loomies' French branch public relations officers if they were honest?

I see there's rioting in the streets of Paris at the moment. Why? Sarkozcy won a democratic election! Obviously the rioters are saying it would be OK if Royal won! It shows that they as much believers in the myth of democracy as those who supported Sarkozcy. And they're seen as opposites!

When I read Peter Wright's famous banned book "Spy Catcher" I had assumed that MI5 would spend most of its time watching the Russians, but no. They seemed to spend far more time keeping an eye on France. Wright was constantly engaged in undercover operations at the French embassy.
