Default This child is only 16..

Found this at Information Clearing House this morning, and it's made me cry. Omar Kahdr, a Candadian, was a victim of extraordinary rendition aged 15, and was held without charge at Guantanemo for 6 years. Despite Amnesty and other human rights groups petitioning the Canadian government to appeal to get him back, they did nothing. Apparently, according to reports, the Americans only had evidence that he was present at something which resulted in a soldier being killed, had no evidence that the child was involved and in fact had evidence which suggested that the grenade which killed the soldier was thrown by someone else just before he was killed.

This boy's the same age as my daughter, how much longer are we going to sit back and allow this to happen?

For as long as we continue to sit back and allow this to happen !

When we all decide to get up off our fat asses, stop whining about the world and get out and do something, then the victories will increase.

Yes, these kind of thing is really sickening. There was a local case near me where a girl of 17 was being sent home as soon as she turned 18 due to some "loophole" in the immigration system. She'd lived in england since she was about 10, all her friends were here etc. and they were sending her back on her own without her family. Then on the flip side of the coin, you get illegal immigrants who're convicted of rape/assault etc. and they don't get sent home because of their "political staus". It's ridiculous.

I know Zarah.. it's so sad, made me cry too.. quickly replaced by anger & disbelief that we can sit in our living rooms and watch this evil on our TV screens, and still do nothing.

Here's another thread about it: http://www.davidicke.com/forum/showt...video+released

Oh yes he definitely cant be held accountable. Why would a 15 year old Canadian be in the middle of a battlefield? do you think he got lost looking for Mecca?

Children have fought in many wars throughout history. Youth does not make a person innocent, neither crying out to be killed. And what if he did throw the grenade and killed that medic? he was not there by accident.
