Default Save the Children

I hate to use a forum as the middle man to ask for facts but i was wondering if anyone here was clued up on save the children are they an uncorrupted and legitimate charity? has anyone ever worked for them? I just wanted to know if i gave them some money (18% of my income for 4 months) would it be really going towards saving the children?

PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE DO NOT DO THIS!!

Before you do alot more research! Big 'charities' = FRAUD! IMHO!

It will NOT make a blind bit of difference if you give them your money...it is all squandered...and the one BIG question you should be asking ANY charity is this..
...'exactly HOW MUCH DOES YOUR CEO EARN?'

That should be enough for them to go silent!

wow thanka! I had a feeling this was the case, i signed up for a monthly donation while i was very drunk and found the receipt in my pocket afterwards... i wonder if it will be easy to cancel, i much prefer a hands on, volunteering approach to charity work, luckily my bank account is empty and likely to stay that way

I'm truly shocked by these CEO payouts, i used to work for Shelter and thought the higher up pay was excessive there but HELL this blows them straight out of the water!

You just contact your bank and cancel it. Simples.

If you want to make a donation, look to local hands on charities.
I also don't mind giving to the salvation army http://www.salvationarmy.org.uk/uki/Food-Poverty
It's such a shame that people are made to feel wary of giving donations because of the corruption that goes on within these large charity organisations. I would like to believe that the sally army is more hands on with donations because they will take food, clothes ect, but who can say for sure

Mike Aaronson the CEO of Save the Children gets £85,000 a year in salary plus his expenses.
That info is online here....

Nice work if you can get it!

I would hope indeed the 'Sallies' ARE doing good, afterall, they got a sizeable pile from the scumbag company that helps destroy animal life, 'one burger at a time....'

http://www.findingdulcinea.com/news/...-Heiress-.html

Read how the SA took 'a few weeks to decide' whether to accept this blood money...

Oh, and the people that work there are referred to as 'soldiers'??
