Exclamation Plagiarism, a corporate scam?

Plagiarism is viewed as a seriouse academic offence but with all the companies like turnitin.com, i can't help but think that it is all a scam to make money.

I did a whole research paper on plagiarism for my law class and the things i discovered are shoking.

Turnitin.com profits from universities(and school boards) that use it to catch so called plagiarists. It costs $50 to get a login and use the site.

Students are required to submit their work to the site BEFORE it is marked.

Once the essay is run throught the site, it stays there making it a great place for hackers to steal essays.

I really think that sites like turnitin.com should be banned because they are unethical and profit in a bad way.

These sites work on the principle "guilty untill proven innocent"
