The Israeli regime has deployed a battery of its US-funded Iron Dome missile system in the south of the Occupied Territories close to the Egyptian border. "An Iron Dome Active Missile Defense System battery is currently deployed near [the city of] Eilat as part of its operational deployment program, which includes changing the locations of the batteries from time to time," the Israeli military announced in a statement issued on Thursday, AFP reported.

The deployment took place on Monday, marking the first time it has been set up in the border area, an Israeli official said on condition of anonymity. Iron Dome is produced with the financial support of the United States. In recent months, the Obama administration has granted Israel financial aid to help it purchase more batteries for the missile system. In May, the US House of Representatives appropriated USD 947 million for the Iron Dome as well David's Sling and Arrow, two other Israeli missile systems.

The contributions, which are sourced from US taxpayer money, are not included in the approximately USD three billion, Washington annually grants Tel Aviv in military assistance. The allocations make Israel the top recipient of US military aid. This comes as the US government has been forced to make major cuts in its own military spending on account of financial dire straits.

Relations between Cairo and Tel Aviv have deteriorated since last year's revolution that overthrew former dictator Hosni Mubarak, a long-time and staunch ally of Israel.

ISS INTERNATIONAL SPACE STATION NASA HOAX? - YouTube
That's hilarious. Space monkey sucks in water drops in micro gravity. Her hair moves a bit weird for somebody in a no-gravity environment.

So how exactly is hair SUPPOSED to move in a no-gravity environment?

It should be all over the place, free floating.

Besides which, any sensible person would simply tie their hair back. It's like they've tried to create the appearance of no gravity gravity but her hair blatantly sticks up like a horses mane and moves with her head. Ridiculous.

She's in space. Her hair might be all "flyaway and floaty" if she can wash and condition it every day, but it's probably a bit gunky and greasy. Unless she shakes her head, it's not going to move. Even if it was flyaway and floaty.

And how does she manage to float? And the globules of water?

Correct me if I am wrong, but isn't zero gravity really a weird state of continuous "free fall" You are orbiting the earth, but there is a downward component of gravity force, so you are in a suspended state of falling. So it would make sense if she had the earth toward her feet, but we don't know that fromthe film.

I understand that this is a difficult state for astronauts to get used to. I don't even want to think of a zero gravity toilet.

Anti gravity chambers - are not really that - its just air pushed up through the floor
that makes things float. A bit like a hovercraft floats on a cushion of air.

David's Sling and Arrow - all very biblical like, don't get me started on the Samson option. Who is the giant that David has his sling ready to aim at?

Basing today's reality on a book of religious myths. Iron dome what kind of name is that.

CGI, people pay money to wonder about special effects in the cinema.

The water drop looked very CGI, especially if it doesn't work initially..

I've never considered the possibility of "hoax" space missions before, (I don't really have that much time on my hands ) but having had the suggestion put in my mind from this and other threads, I can't look at the video now without looking for CGI or other signs of fakery.

But if this one's fake, then so are all the Spacelab, Shuttle and Mir videos and films, and if I start thinking about it too much, I'll drive myself insane.

I'll leave it to you.

She had no immediate details on the weapons used.

No-gravity is a misconception. Even if the footage was somehow faked, low-Earth orbit is still effected by the Earth's gravity. An orbit in terms of Earth is an object falling around the planet. Think of it in terms of a ball. If you throw a ball, it 'flies' for a bit before succumbing to the effects of gravity, falling to the ground and coming to a halt. Now think of throwing a ball at just the right speed/distance/velocity/etc. where the effects of gravity cause it to fall around the planet and never touch the ground. This is called an orbit.

An orbit isn't possible near the surface, but if you're 120 miles above the surface it is. Anything below that is susceptible to orbital decay due to stronger gravity as you get closer to the surface.

This is also related to how that "vomit comet" plane can accurately simulate "zero gravity" in terms of what's encountered in space due to how it continuously is diving and climbing in parabolas. When it falls, people become 'weightless'. An orbit is, again, and object literally falling around the Earth. It's the same thing when you're skydiving except you're exposed to the elemental resistance from the air. This concept is not related to air as fluid in terms of lift which makes flight possible.

You got it. They don't really teach this in public school for some reason

Apollo 13 had its weightless scenes filled on a "Vomet Comet" plane while diving. In the US, the Zero Gravity Corporation offers this for tourism purposes but it's expensive.

Sounds like those skydiving simulators. I'd imagine the experience is similar because you're still in a state of free fall.
