MI6 foils nuclear Iran

British spies thwarted Iranian attempts to acquire nuclear weapons, the head of MI6 has revealed.

In a rare public appearance, Sir John Sawers said covert operations by UK, American and Israeli agents stopped Tehran’s plans as early as 2008.

However the Secret Intelligence Service chief warned Iran was only ‘two years away’ from becoming nuclear armed.

This development, he warned, would put pressure on the Americans and Israelis to risk a military strike.

The spy chief’s remarks were made at a Civil Service Live conference in London in a session open to the public.

Without MI6’s role in foiling the plot, ‘you’d have Iran as a nuclear weapons state in 2008 rather than still being two years away in 2012,’ he said.

Sir John disclosed that MI6 had ‘run a series of operations to ensure that the sanctions introduced internationally are implemented, and that we do everything we can within the Middle East to slow down these remaining problems.

‘I take great pride in the fact that ... I’ve been involved in an issue of global concern, and I feel that I as an individual [have made] an impact in the outcome of events.’

Sir John said it was up to MI6 to ‘delay that awful moment when the politicians may have to take a decision between accepting a nuclear-armed Iran or launching a military strike against Iran’.

When that moment came, he said: ‘It will be very tough for any prime minister of Israel or president of the United States to accept a nuclear-armed Iran.’

I'm guessing the time for the attack on Iran is drawing near

When stories like this come out, it is pure propaganda designed to put fear into those less well informed. I'm personally more concerned about about US, UK, France & Israel being nuclear armed as they are more likely to actually use the bloody things!

I reckon the attack will happen before the end of September this year, maybe earlier (during the olympics?)

The west will not directly attack Iran before they have not solved their Syria debacle.
But the Syria debacle could prove to be the trigger of WWIII.

Currently, the Russian black sea fleet with missile cruisers is heading for Tartus/Syria and passed yesterday the Bosporus.
The greeks called it the biggest fleet movement of Russia in the last 20 years.

Agreed, the story mentioned is propoganda nonsense, the esculation in Syria, in particular Russia's fulfillment of 'old contracts' to deliver missile defense systems to Syria, and the above mentioned 'Russian fleet movements' has more chance of triggering WWIII.

What I will say though, is I've read many well documented stories that Isreaili citizens, US citizens etc are publicly withdrawing support for any World War with Iran, and the ongoing 911 truth movement still going strong over the false flag element of that event could be holding it ALL back and giving them something to ponder? Maybe!!!

and the ones every one should be worrying about is china they will use them they are working towards that now

You totally overestimate the influence of life threatened scientists.

The question is more why the US immediately got the captured enemy scientists to Roswell for expertise? Enemy scientists who are put to work on advanced reverse engineering.

The Us needed the captured scientists to close the technology gap, The Soviets too.

I think during the Olympics too, last Olympics we saw Russia go to war with Georgia they knew it was npt going to get big headlines while an event like the Olympics is happening.
I fear same tactic will be used against Iran by the time it filters through it will be too late to stop as Olympics news in the Media will drown out any build ups to what unfolds.

I know this is probably propaganda because Iran didn't had to acuire nuclear weapons. Nuclear weapons (nuclear power plants) are already in situ in the countries you mentioned.

No need for expensive weapon or to launch it from far far away. If Greenpeace could parachute down into the NPP, anyone can. Horrible thought but it's true though.

I can't be certain, but my gut feeling is that Iran really isn't interested in nukes!

It's just propaganda otherwise they wouldn't go publicly with it even if true. Preparing the minds for the inevitability of a war against Iran and justifying it with claims that may be entirely made-up as usual.
