Did any of the murray haters actually see the final. It was pretty much even matched between the two of them. He was the first British player to get there in 70-odd years. What a great scots sportsman.

Well, the first set was Federer's warm-up.

After that Murray started falling over and got tired, and started fucking up his serve again.

Cue Federer win.

Calling him a great Scots sportsman is slightly tragic though.... Never won a single grand slam.

He clearly lacks that one quality which delineates greatness in sports.

But Murray is good, for sure...........not great though.

Predictable errors and too obvious weaknesses.

And now Murray.... he's a good all round player.

Murray was the world no.2 at one time, he was world no. 4 when at Wimbledon last week, not too shoddy.

Yes he cried at the end but maybe you would too if you'd spent so many months and years preparing physically and mentally for such a big event.

So many people are hung up on one little flippant remark he made years ago when he was quite young. Are so many English people really so hurt because of it? He was very appreciative of the mainly English crowd and said so.

He's achieved a lot so far in his career and it seems he wants to be known for being good at tennis, not being a 'personality'. He's come a long way and I'm sure he can win Wimbledon in the future. It seems he will have to put up with an army of childish piss takers who are probably welded to their couches and have all the physical and sporting prowess of dog poo.

Well, he hasn't won a single grand slam and his weaknesses are too easy and apparent for his opponents to exploit.

Join the cheer leading for the guy by all means, but accept that in the present form he will never be a winner.

Like I said, he needs to be fitter (Federer is practically Terminator fitness level, he didn't even sweat) to beat Federer Murray has to be EVEN fitter than he is.

And he needs to master his service game.

Federer toyed with Murray, it wasn't really an even match.

It's nothing to do with pride, as I've already pointed out most folk with any sense eschew T for some of the reasons you've quoted.

The town Greenock was host to the tall ships last year and attracted thousands of people from all over the world, without incidence.

Sure there are problems with neds/chavs in Scotland. However there is still a strong sense of community and most of the kids at these festivals go a bit 'mad' without parental control.

Alcohol and drugs no doubt help fuel the silliness.
