Also of course in the Media today Terrorism has been mentioned an awful lot. The Coach incident that closed the M6 today was ridiculous and no doubt part of the charade. Quote:

The Burj Khalifa in Dubai also has a spire.
Their opening ceremony with lasers, light shows, music and gigantic fireworks was truly spectacular. http://www.blinkx.com/watch-video/bu...zmIcpRO4H4KYCA That show was out of this world - and accessible to all for free!!! I am no friend of the Sheikhs but their Burj Khalifa is a wonder of the world - the opening ceremony there was fabulous. They repeat every new year's eve with the same kind of spectacular show with fireworks free for all to enjoy. Qatar has got lots more money than Dubai. They will own the planet if we let them. Their Shard tower inauguration for which there was so much hype -- they own 95% of it including all the surrounding land -- was a TOTAL FLOP!!!! ![]() ![]()

Here it is, in all it's sinister 'beauty' (fkn eyesore) sending beams out like ley lines, connecting with ancient sites, now dominated by prominent buildings.

£25 for adults and £19 for children to go up the shard, what a complete piss take.
wouldn't surprise me if the sole purpose of building it was to blow it up 20-30 years later. |

A spectacular light and laser show has marked the formal inauguration of the Shard, a gleaming feat of glass and gravity-defying engineering that stands at 309.6 metres high and now dominates the capital's skyline. A combination of 12 lasers and 30 searchlights lit up the night sky from the 95 storey building, which towers over existing landmarks such as 30 St Mary Axe - the "Gherkin" - and One Canada Square. I'll let someone else do the numerology, it's too early for math.

Great post This ceremony you mention is called "The Order of The Thistle" here's a bit about it.... The Most Ancient and Most Noble Order of the Thistle is an order of chivalry associated with Scotland. The current version of the Order was founded in 1687 by King James VII of Scotland (also known as James II of England and Ireland) who asserted that he was reviving an earlier Order. The Order consists of the Sovereign and sixteen Knights and Ladies, as well as certain "extra" knights (members of the British Royal Family and foreign monarchs). The Sovereign alone grants membership of the Order; he or she is not advised by the Government, as occurs with most other Orders. Its basically a swearing in ceremony for new monarchs. William is declaring that Scotland is his.. ![]()

As someone who lives in London, this thing is always looming on the horizon. It's just "in your face" everywhere you go. The idea of Russian Oligarchs and slimey Arab businessmen leering down on me 24/7 is very disconcerting, even disturbing.

It's the new iconic symbol of London... apparently... makes you wonder what will happen to the old one, Big Ben!

There's spikes already at ground level at London bridge, which I thought represented the spikes they used to impale heads on (William Wallace?) as warning to people entering London.
So isn't this just a bigger warning? |
