The M6 Toll motorway has been closed after armed counter-terrorism police stopped a coach in the West Midlands.

Sky's crime correspondent Martin Brunt said the passengers had been removed and the vehicle was being searched.

"Police are there in very big numbers, including armed police, and there was some concern this could be some sort of terror incident. One report is of a chemical spillage but I think it will be some time before anything in clarified," he said.

The Highways Agency confirmed that the motorway had been closed in both directions between junctions three and four following a "police-led" incident. It was expected to be shut until at least mid-afternoon.

The coach was stopped just hours after a reportedly unrelated operation in which five men and a woman were arrested on suspicion of the commission, preparation or instigation of acts of terrorism.

Detectives were searching eight homes in east, west and north London, and one business address in east London.

British security forces are on high alert for any signs of trouble ahead of the Olympics. Seven years ago suicide bombers killed 52 people in a string of coordinated attacks in London."

It looks like decontamination units have been set up...

....also army units are present and someone in a decontam suit is searching the Blue bus (not the white one that is being shown more often)

Yesterdays circus clearly must have been an `exercise` probably in preparation for the olympic games.

I would also guess that 2 maybe 3 ppl were `in on it`
namely : the person with the electronic cigarette.... the person that reported it..... and possibly the coach driver (although it is debateable regards him whilst it wasnt in the coach company`s best interest to waste 4 hours on the motorway - not unless of course they were paid for their part in it)

In one sense I can understand why they might have felt a need for such an exercise, but surely they could have done it more quickly & they could have used their own officers or friends as the passengers. It would have served the same purpose which basically was to test out the scenario & see how quickly other services attended.

Of course, doing it the way they did, also served to instil fear into the public, and remind them that tomorrow is the anniversary of 07/07, and it all adds weight to what appears to be the ultimate agenda... the militarization of the U.K. - total tracking - microchips & cashless society - 1984.
