+1 for X-COM, although I'm a Terror from the Deep man myself. The best games ever made! I still have a (rare) PS1 copy, although loading times were a nightmare. Worth it though! If you've never played it then yes, the OP's sentiment is correct!

It's just a re-skin job...and never mind the load times...although they are massive, c64 massive, what about the thinking time the poor old PS1 needed on those ship levels?

For the most part, the OP is right. Life is totally meaningless.

Sometimes though, when I'm high, I like to imagine the very real possibility that aliens have abducted nice, decent human beings from Earth and transported them to some avatar-like paradise across the universe where they can live in perfect equilibrium with the nature of an alien world.

Would it not be like caring about fighting the bad guy in a computer game for the xbox? seems silly. Once you turn the game off it's back to reality, it's just a game/computer program.

You could have lived a life with suffering but once you're dead you're at peace and it surely no longer matters, you are free and in the other place you probably think "meh" that was a crazy time on Earth (a speck of time in an infinity), now I can exist in peacefulness and time on Earth is but is distant and faded memory.

If I was hit by a Krenim temporal weapons ship and erased from all of existence and all of time I doubt much would change upon the planet so it wouldn't matter!

Edit: The planet aint gonna be around forever anyway and neither is the universe so even if my erasure did cause a difference it wouldn't matter!
