It was written by a journalist who has synthesised and brought together ideas from top cutting edge scientists and physicists who are studying quantum mechanics and its larger scale implications. they are more or less saying that there exists a 'field' of energy that binds all in the universe together at a subatomic quantum level - a quantum field or 'force' if you will which means that everything we do affects everything else, we are all connected, and our actions can powerfully affect the universe etc. more or less explains many things religions have been teaching for a while now, the power of prayer, and eastern medicines /concepts like acupuncture and qi energy.... so they say the newtonian, darwinian ideas are now being replaced and are outdated, and that we should no longer see ourselves as individuals struggling for survival (of hte fittest) and alone in our struggle etc... but instead we are all part of this vast web of energy, all connected to everything else in the universe on a quantum level and our very intentions and thoughts actually change and shape matter... this means our thoughts are extremely powerful.... matter at its most basic level doesn't actually have a particular form - it's in a quantum state - and our INTENTION actually affects what form the matter takes. this is MAJOR - it means the way we do everything, organise our society, all our sciences, are going to need a massive re-think... it also tends to reconcile many religious ideas with science and provide basis for them.... i highly recommend the book, it's really interesting - may change your whole world view - show it to any scientists you know as well... |

a journalist lynne mctaggart compiled it by interviewing lots of top international scientists about their recent discoveries. there's a sequel called the 'intention experiment'.

This is a weird bit of synchronicity. Literally last night, I started looking into the origins of the Jedi Order, because I figured they must have started somewhere, and I was curious to see if a story had been written yet about how they transitioned from a society similar to ours to the point where the Jedi Order was strong for about 1000 years. Then I found this - "Dawn of the Jedi", a new comic series that explores the formation of the Jedi. Now this.
The mind boggles sometimes. ![]() But yes, really good news that science has now started to back up everything that every Star Wars nerd has been fantasising about for years. Love it. Happy, happy me.

HAHAHA...SCIENCE. Science is ALWAYS several light years behind REALITY. How long did it take SCIENCE to realise the earth wasn`t a plateau with tiny lights revolving around at night, until god resurrected the ball of fire everyday to gape in awe at god`s omnipotence? So SCIENCE finally caught up with the fact that everything is ONE? Big fucking deal...I KNEW THAT WHEN I WAS STILL IN MY DIAPERS. (Does that qualify me for an executive job at NASA? I think NOT.) Another excellent book on the subject is 'The Source Field Investigations' by David Wilcock.

maybe cuz there are less scientists here. anyone observed that scientists always seem pretty uptight and strung out??? maybe it comes from the fact that somewhere in the back of their heads they suspect that everything they find out is true most people already knew all along...

Yep, I agree with all that.
The thing that blew my mind is the concept that every subatomic particle is not just made up of the same thing, but that every subatomic particle IS the same particle, able to be in more places than once at a time. That would mean that everything is connected, because everything is part of the same thing. |

OK, so check this crazy stuff out: how about another episode of weird synchronicity in my life?
I went to a small festival with my wife and kids a couple of weeks ago, and whilst I was there, I realised that I'd left all my current reading material at home - "The Celestine Prophecies", "Human Race, Get Off Your Knees", "1984", etc. All of a sudden, my wife comes bounding over and says, "hey, there's a book stall here if you want to find something to read in the evenings whilst we're here!" So I made my way over to this stall, met the nice couple running it and simply told them that I was looking for something really good to read. They asked me what sort of thing I was looking for, and I just said, "I dunno, personal development?" They looked at me a bit "gone out". I explained my situation and told them that I'd had a lot of odd synchronicity in my life recently, and I was sure that something would pop up when it was supposed to. After being shown an array of books on Buddhism, Wicca and spiritualism, what should pop up but, lo and behold - "The Field", by Lynn McTaggart. And it was at a reduced price as well! How weird is that? So now I'm about halfway through, and I already know from this book that: 1) everything is, in fact, just different quantities and compressions of energy interacting, 2) the consciousness exists outside of the body in the Source Field, 3) some people are able to influence the world around them by manipulating the field (or the Force, as I prefer to think of it ),4) memory is either spread like a hologram throughout the brain and therefore damage to the brain does not destroy entire memories, or it is stored in the consciousness in the Field and can be accessed by others either consciously or subconsciously, and 5) we are all already essentially our own creator gods. But what blew me away more than anything else was the concept that what we perceive as being the world around us might not actually be anything like the way we perceive it, because really, what we see is not the real outside world, but an interpretation of our senses built up inside our minds as an image. So although our ears hear a dog, our noses smell one, our hands tell us it has fur, and our eyes see it as a dog, who's to say that one or more of those senses is actually malfunctioning and it's actually something completely different? In a nutshell, I love this book.
