It turns out that the respected news agency Reuters picked up an incorrect report and passed it on. They have issued this statement:

On 11 September 2001 Reuters incorrectly reported that one of the buildings at the New York World Trade Center, 7WTC, had collapsed before it actually did. The report was picked up from a local news story and was withdrawn as soon as it emerged that the building had not fallen."

Im on it too, use'd to lobby in parliament, so only to glad to have a go.

One thing for UK residents to note. I know with most, if not all letters / emails sent to MP's that you have to supply your "name, address & postode" if not they just file you correspondence as "junk mail", as I had this problem with my MP a while back. May not be the case here though? Anyone aware of this loophole they use?

Also note that with some corporations (I presume BBC is officially that too), particularly the Govt depts, if you don't put a heading on your letter at the top that says "letter of complaint" & underline it, they wont class it as a complaint! (another legal loophole they have used against me in the past)

It's good to see people trying so hard to make a difference. But sadly I think this might be effort in the wrong direction. Why do people think they have to appeal to the BBC to get things done? Don't let them fool you into thinking that the 'big society' is your community, it isn't.
