Default How do Doctors not get sick?

I remember as a child, visiting the doctor, I always wondered why he never got sick. I would always visit him with the flu or a cold, go into the waiting room filled with other sick people. I would always visit him, and he would always be in perfect health, and was never afraid to see a patient, no matter how contagious his/her disease was, and the doctor never caught anything.

My question is, how the hell do these doctors not get sick?

Could their exposure to all of these diseases from all of their patients, some how strengthen their immune system?

Or is there a secret drug that doctors take?

I must learn their secret! I must!

It's a conspiracy, I say!

Probably because they are all health minded individuals & have expansive knowledge bases.

The last time I was really sick/bed-ridden was over 10 years ago having had a bad virus. Since then, it's only been the odd sore throat, minor flu, fatigue (due to silly diets) but nothing major.

They do suffer, one doc at my practise had a heart attack a few are obese but being extortianately well paid for promoting Big Pharma medication helps to ease the situation and live a decent lifestyle working for The Wealth Service..

I know many docs that have granduous second homes where I live and other properties they rent out I think one I know gets £400 a time for a call out ..

Of course just as many suffer with depression and other ailments as there are good docs and bad ones they are absolutely no different in my book and I certainly do not hold them in high esteem.

I think diet is probably the most important measure to being healthy along with adequate exercise however I do think there are known cures and causes of major diseases that could be wiped out virtually at a stroke..

LOL I have to go to a specialist every 4-6 weeks. Last time I went, he was the one wearing a mask, because he had a really bad cold.

Doctors get ill more than most, statistically

They don't always have very healthy lifestyles and they come into contact with a lot of disease

Doctors get sick all the time. One that lives down the street from me died last year from a heart attack at age 55.

Look up the presentation "Dead Doctors Don't Lie".

My doctor must be an exception then, because he must be in his 80`s now and is still treating patients. I still haven`t seen him get sick yet.

Doctors get the same diseases and have the same medical problems as the rest of us. Although there is some data that suggests they don't live quite as long as the average, you will still find doctors in their 80s and 90s.

strange how our perceptions vary as when i was a child, I always remember every doctor I saw was old fat, bloated man with red face, drank like a fish, smoked and ate fried breakfasts and did not look healthy at all. That is what made me think it was strange that doctors were so unhealthy looking. I'm sure it was instrumental in my path into healthy eating and living which ibegan as teenager and was pretty unusual back then

when i was in hospital recently, for smashed shoulder, all the nurses looked overweight or obese.

They kept making comments at how healthy I looked
