Why Piracy is not Theft.
I've been meaning to write something on this topic for a while. We all get bombarded with the old FACT (Federation Against Copy write Theft) or the FBI trailer at the start of all our DVD's...Piracy is a crime, it funds terrorist organisations, it jeopardizes future film productions...blah blah blah...  So, think for a minute - what do we define as theft? Back in the old days, when Moses was on the mount of Olives, he proclaimed 'Thou shalt not STEAL'. If one were to steal, the one stolen from would go without. If you took their bread, or their bull calf, you would be condemning your neighbour to starvation. This is the true, biblical meaning of 'Theft'. Now. What happens if you copy a CD? Well, for one, the original does not cease to exist. You can both enjoy it  Go ahead. It's not a sin!!But what about lost income? Think!! Who runs the media? Who owns the record companies and movie studios? Don't you think they can afford it?: These people make money we cannot conceive or even dream about. I'll admit there are a lot of underpaid bit part players in movies, but they aren't going to get justice from the movie industry. Same goes for musicians. Local musicians I *have* to support. They deserve it. Many see music as a hobby because it it so underpaid. But the biggies, Adele, Nicki Minaj, Lady Gaga, Rihanna, Jay-Z, Beyonce... go ahead, download it (if you must!?) but don't pay a penny. THEY DON'T NEED IT!!! So, how about Software? Do you need it to further your career? Do you have to have MS Office, Dreamweaver, Sibelius, Photoshop...? Why pay for it? Why limit yourself by using the 2nd best when you can have the best? What? pay £600 for a program you need for your profession?  Don't be daft. This will put your wealthy competitors ahead of you. Who wants to go to a publisher who can only afford Serif...!!The big 3 have an agenda to dominate the world's media. Don't believe for one second that the movie industry will suffer if we don't pay for films. They are all powerful and all prosperous and will MAKE IT HAPPEN. And do you believe that piracy pays for terrorist organizations? Not for one minute!! Are you INSANE!! SCAREMONGERING!! Hollywood is far too powerful to be threatened by piracy. FACT!! If they lost profits and had to stop producing movies how else would they be able to brainwash us!!! Think people. They don't need your money. Independent artists and film-makers do. Patronize the worthy, not our oppressors. We have the power to overthrow this monopoly, if we believe we are right and act on our wisdom. Please stop the rich getting richer, and the poor getting poorer. PIRACY IS NOT A CRIME!!!

Get over it however The notion IS being pushed that it's people v antipiracy. Ultimately antipiracy will win (moral high ground) and the internet will be ruthlessly policed Not to catch pirates though. To stop the elite Jews from being exposed for the uber criminals they are. I don't care if actors or musicians or filmmakers are deprived of income.
Anyone can make a movie or a song with today's software, so if people start doing it for free instead of to make money, then we might actually see a renaissance of creativity and positive self-expression replace all the dark muck they've been pumping into our heads for a hundred years. Hollywood and the Gaming/Music Industry had been crying foul of piracy since the VCR went mainstream- Yet EVERY YEAR they get more and more profitable. They like to count every download as a "lost sale"- So they QQ about huge "losses" yet anyone with half a brain realizes that MOST THINGS we download- We wouldn't buy ANYWAYS. DRM in games was originally non existent and anyone who had a Commodore 64/128 a LONG time ago can attest to the fact that we rarely paid for ANY SOFTWARE- You copied from friends, hit a BBS board, etc... Yet computers and gaming survived- BUT console gaming nearly didnt because of GREED. You couldnt copy Atari 2600 games like we could PC games and yet ATARI bankrupted itself and buried millions of unsold ET cartridges in the Desert as a result of GREED. http://www.nostalgiaholic.com/wp/179...st-cartridges/ -The system which had games that were Pirated SURVIVED while the other failed. Even Lazer Disks failed to replace our trusty VCRs... It took DVDs and the PS2 including a DVD player (making the price more reasonable and more media available) to get us to switch. The methods of Piracy TODAY is greater than ever before- And yet the businesses that suffer from this "scourge" keep being more and more successful (even though the movies/music is much worse IMO)- How is this if "Piracy is killing their business"? -Then you look into the business practices of Hollywood and co. and see how utterly shady they are. How they blatantly steal scripts and refuse to pay actors, they PIRATE technology, get tax money directly and indirectly and generally act as a Mafia type criminal enterprise- I am not joking or over exaggerating. Do you know in the USA there are places where you have "Pay to spray" laws? This means you pay money to a fire department AHEAD OF TIME to save your house from fire... i was on txtor today reading their faq. they simply say that downloading stuff isn't stealing. i guess then there's the whole receiving-stolen-goods thing to contend with. it's one of those things that everybody has an opinion and everyone says that they're right and anyone else is wrong. it sounds a smidge like religion:P

I have a theory about that obnoxious piracy is a crime dvd trailer thing. It is so spazzstick that I turn my head from watching every time it comes on, as I feel like the overstimulation will cause brain damage or seizure. The way it flashes and the jerky camera movements...sure some people call it artistic but I bet it is designed that way for subliminal programming. I wish I were an expert on the tv subliminal hypnosis and flashes per second stuff but Im not. If I had to guess I would say that this clip and its subliminals are a sort of intended reverse psycholgy telling people they should do illegal downloads. There is no way I will believe that they dont want people using torrents and stuff for movies, I think thats what they do want. Software piracy is probably different though. Just my theory
