A valid point certainly, but one that is often rolled out to defend our permissive, licentious culture which is NOT pivoted around "bonding" sex, but casual, promiscuous, premature and ill-considered sex.

I have absolutely no problem with people enjoying sex for its own sake, and for bonding purposes, within a loving, committed relationship - it was after all designed to be enjoyed!

What I have a problem with is the fact that most sex that goes on in the modern West, positively does not fit into that category.

If sterile sex is such a bonding thing, how come promiscuity and divorce/breakup are prolific in society. In truth, sterile sex is a shallow thing compared to the intimacy possible in sharing the making of a new life. As I said, sex has become infantilised and infants are being sexualised.
