You can water your garden with a watering-can.

Yes this winter has been drier than ever. I know that I have been able to hang the washing out more than I was ever able to and I have done so much outside the house but lets wait to see if we have 6 weeks of the school holiday pouring down with rain every day. The seasons are all to hell here and have been for a while.

I sorted out an irrigation system for my garden. I made holes in hosepipe and sealed the ends, dug trenches and ran it under the garden. My mum is forever telling me that water is only hitting the surface if you don't water your veg for long enough so the pipe should be able to water under the soil. The pipe is connected to the rainbarrel overflows but when they don't overflow I can attach them to the taps. When the barrels are dry my neighbour says I can use her hose to fill them up again. (I will do it at night if we get a ban).
I'm buggered if I am going to lose veg because I'm afraid of using my tap to water the plants. And I feel reluctant to feed the greedy corporations even if i am rolling in gold!

By any normal country's standards we get a lot of rain. We are just so used to it, that we are terrible at collecting and storing the stuff.

Currently waiting for a gap inthe puring rain to take the dog for a walk. But I know this downpour won't have made any difference to the hosepipe ban etc. It does mean the grass is growing like crazy though...........another weekend ruined by mowing the lawn!

My mower broke at the beginning of last season but i haven't needed one since I graze chickens and guinea-pigs on there now.
They weed, scarify and fertilise it.

But i would expect some inflation due to QE money printing thats going on in the USA and UK.

All commodities such as gold, food, clothes/cotton are traded in the USD known as the petrodollar, so when the FED/USG print money, it effects our commodities prices in the UK and the rest of the world, hence food going up and clothes.

The water shortage could well be a cover story to hide high inflation in the near future. they are probably just conditioning us right now with all the propaganda so we expect prices to rise and we will all think its due to not having enough rain. Then the banks will be able to print more money without anyone suspecting its the reason for inflation.

They wont be able to cover it over when we hit hyperinflation.

I remember an article about some of the UK breweries putting up the prices of their ale because of the water shortage. ???

The hosepipe ban doesnt effect anyone round here, no one washes their cars.

They covered this on the radio about a week ago, some woman phoned in to ask the official about filling a childs paddling pool,he said thats ok if you use a watering can and not a hosepipe and the watering can must be filled from the tap and not from a hose, she replyed but ill be using the same amount of water if i fill the paddling pool by hose or watering can,the reply was if you use a hosepipe during a hosepipe ban then you could be fined, and she was cut off,we dont have a ban in my area yet infact we'v had some quite heavy rain fall but its probably not enough either way im not gona watch my garden perish especialy my veg.

Yeah that's unreal about the watering can and hose. Think of what a struggle the elderly will have using a watering-can instead of a hose? They still want to water the bloody garden, what does it matter what the water is transported in?
I keep a close eye on the weather and does everyone remember the flooding in previous years? I do, I noted it very well as one site was calling it the 'washing of the sacrifice', floods everywhere, if tables are low I would really like to know where the water has gone but even the reservoirs seem full.
stand by for meters for all, comes with the supa-doopa SMART meter and you won't believe how stressed you get on a water meter. To suddenly have to ration something you take for granted can be quite difficult.

We are getting stitched up I feel.

Tbh that graph has very poor quality graphics.
Pitsford is much lower than at any time in recent years, quite shockingly low.
Considering its end of winter/start of spring, it should not be that low because of the normal amount of rain we would have had by now over winter.
