Actually, I wouldn't say it's the cruelest thing to see. Having watched the video 'Earthlings', and the way dogs were skinned alive is a image I cannot get out of my head.

The point I want to make is about reconcilliation. How do I reconcile that image of the dogs and my love for other members of my species?

I'm not sure if I should say this, but the cruellest thing I ever saw was a woman who slowly crushed a live kitten with the heels of her shoes... One should never see such a thing. The emptiness in her eyes was chilling.

I've been to China about 20 times and it never ceases to amaze me how they treat animals and people. The cruelest thing I saw was a unemployed farmer that had moved into a city to earn money shot dead because he was begging a westerner for money!

Animal or not that's just plain bloody evil. If anyone wants to eat another living thing then the very least they should do is kill him/her (not 'it') and do it QUICK and as painless as is possible. I bloody hate seeing cruel, heartless shit like this it makes my blood boil

You know what i dont buy into that 'they made a contract' stuff. People can be just plain evil vile filth. Like those evil scum responsible for that horror in those videos.
I doubt the scum doing whats happening in those vids are capable of empathy if they were they couldnt go through with that sort of thing in the first place. I've always 'felt/known' with every fibre of my being that I couldnt do that sort of thing to any animal/turtle etc. I don't even like to think about it.

In Asia, life, be it human or animal carries less weight. Also, money equals to survival or power. It's been this way for thousands of years.This is the bare truth, this is the culture, and nobody bats an eyelid, unfortunately. Remember the little girl on the road run over last year and nobody cared?

Basically life and death are considered interchangable, and one and the same. It's different when compared to the Western concept of life.

That's why the poor people accept lower wages working as outsourced labor for rich western folks, and are willing to put up with such nonsense. The West is guilty for seeking profits at the expense of devaluation of life value.
