Default The Truth About Sport - Alan Watt (5 min vid)

It's probably been posted before, as it's from 2010.

I enjoy watching sport but what he's saying here is true. Will be of interest to anyone who enjoyed shows such as 'Century of the Self'.

I'm not that mad on sport to be honest. It's an unbalanced world in which sports people, particularly footballers get paid so much - why don't they play for free man! Like for the fresh air and the fun!

Don't get me wrong, I love watching the occasional big game on television, and I love retro sports clips from the 70s. I don't knock it for the money in the game, if someone's talent (as a participant) is in that area, then why not? But it's not a religion for me as it is for some.

That said I love the World Cup and Euro Football and after they finish I try and get into League Football and it just doesn't grab me the same - I think it's because I'm not really a tibal person which is what you have to be to follow a football team. Probably these events are special. The Olympics I'm not interested.
