And the worst is they have learnt nothing from it and are making the same mistake in Libya now. The colonial age is over.

They need a multi billion satellite to spot someone, and then send a multi million aircraft from a multi billion aircraft carrier to bomb a few sand-negro' s in an old Toyota.

I guess the health 'n safety team of the BBC Top Gear crew, stopped Clarkson from inviting the RAF to test the indestructibility of their trusty old Toyota Hi Lux.

Libya's Great Man-Made River Project And NATO War Crimes.

By Frances Thomas

September 1st is the anniversary of an event little known in the West. Today, twenty years on, the people who deserve to be celebrating it, are instead enduring a war. Yet the achievement changed their lives greatly and merits recognition.

A tap was turned on in Libya. From an enormous ancient aquifer, deep below the Sahara Desert, fresh water began to flow north through 1200 kilometres of pipeline to the coastal areas where 90% of Libyan people live, delivering around one million cubic metres of pure water per day to the cities of Benghazi and Sirte. Crowds gathered in the desert for the inaugural ceremony. Phase I of the largest civil engineering venture in the world, the Great Man-made River Project, had been completed

Chief of Gaddafi’s security forces enters Nigerien capital

The chief of Libyan fugitive leader Muammar Gaddafi’s security brigade has entered the capital of Niger, Niamey, on Tuesday in a convoy, according to Associated Press, citing customs official Harouna Ide. He says other Libyan convoys are in the town of Agadez in central Niger.

MSM also reports 'the trucks contain money and gold from Sirte'

Could be a money/gold transport

...acording to the rebels......the trucks contain gold from Sirte. Considering they are known liars, can we trust wahta they say?

Also seen reports from African papers that quote Niger officials as saying the convoy was not as big as described and contained small pick up and vans, not armoured trucks.

I think the 'armoured trucks' were the Niger trucks that escorted the convoy to the city.

if they had gold they would be under tremendous fire now..
from air land and sea..all mercenary invading countries special soldier squads would be chasing the rewards..

personally I think its propaganda..

if the aggressors make out he has fled with the gold I think the aggressors have the gold and are using the opportunity to further slander him, to counter the work he has done for Africa.

imho

I heard about this project years ago and didn't know whether to believe it or not..
Its sad possibly the largest humanitarian venture is hardly known of..
Even sadder I would never of seen any evidence of it unless i spent hours on this forum..And the world is mostly unaware of it.

Great article..Thanks for sharing

Oh, and by the way, attacking essential civilian infrastructure is a war crime.

It is sad, this whole Libya thing is very sad. it was bombed it to create a human catastrophe IMO. Without this water supply many could eventually die. It was a remarkable feat of engineering to supply most of Lbya with fresh clean water, and to irrigate vast area's of the desert for the future. It was also free to everybody.

NATO’s War on Libya is an Attack on African Development–

Dan Glazebrook

To prevent this ‘threat of African development’, the Europeans and the USA have responded in the only way they know how – militarily. Four years ago, the US set up a new “command and control centre” for the military subjugation of the Africa, called AFRICOM. The problem for the US was that no African country wanted to host them; indeed, until very recently, Africa was unique in being the only continent in the world without a US military base. And this fact is in no small part, thanks to the efforts of the Libyan government

The Libyan tribes - NATO’s War Crimes in Libya

"Western people wake up, to how your countries are being used by rulers of monsters and wicked politicians to destroy the innocents of the world. Libya is not your enemy. So why do you allow your wicked leaders to wage war on these poor simple people? It is not about Gadafi and “Human Rights”! You know that!"

Here’s what those 2,000 Tribal Leaders had to say about British aggression, in a statement approved unanimously on June 3. Sheikh Ali, head of the Tribal Leaders, delivered it to Joanna Moriarty and other members of the global fact finding mission:
"We are civilians and we are being killed by the British and NATO. Civilians are people without guns, yet the British and NATO protect only the armed crusaders from the East by acting as their attack army. We have read the UN resolutions and there is no mention of bombing innocent civilians. There is no mention of assassinating the legitimate authorities in all of Libya.”

News
Day 170: 07. september 2011. Libya news

20h/ NATO continues bombing Walit Beni, Sirte and Sabha.
Knowing that NATO is total siege on the city of Sabha, and has been bombarding the city three days, it is very difficult to find because they are currently trying to hide violations of all international laws that are taking place. Leonor in Libya http://leonorenlibia.blogspot.com/20...medium=twitter
19h/ The Libyan tribes - NATO’s War Crimes in Libya --> http://libyasos.blogspot.com/2011/09...-in-libya.html
Since the beginning of the NATO operation (31 March 2011, 06.00GMT) a total of 21,780 sorties, including 8,180 strike sorties, have been conducted.
19h/ NATO's Libyan Intervention Evokes Collective Memory Of Colonial Era. The death of Imtiaz Alam, a domestic help in Tripoli, ten days ago in a North Atlantic Treaty Organisation (Nato) air strike, was an opportune moment for our government to pronounce on the Libyan tragedy. Even the death of a sparrow is a tragedy, as Shakespeare put it, but the government continued with its stony silence about Nato’s war crimes. http://www.globalresearch.ca/index.p...t=va&aid=26407
18h/ Real chaos on cards for new Libya - Mohamed Hassan is one of Africa's most experienced diplomats. Just back from the Libyan capital, Tripoli, he says NATO bombing has turned it into a ghost town. “There is no police, there is no administration, there are no schools,” he said.
