FBI needs your help: Break this code

ALPONTE GLSE - SE ERTE, one line read. Is that a coded plea for help? A reminder to pick up the laundry from the cleaners? The beginnings of a commentary on the weather in St. Louis?

If you know, the FBI's top code-breaking unit wants your help in breaking McCormick's code — one that has baffled government cryptologists for more than a decade — and perhaps solving his murder.

Dan Olson, chief of the FBI Laboratory's Cryptanalysis & Racketeering Records Unit, said the papers found on the body of 41-year-old McCormick could be the key in figuring out why he was murdered.

But none of their cryptologists has been able to break the code created by McCormick, a high school dropout, even after years of work, Olson said. So the FBI is turning to the public for help, hoping that someone out there recognizes the code used by McCormick on the two papers posted by the agency at http://1.usa.gov/evCb2i

Police said McCormick had experimented with codes and ciphers for much of his life.

Perhaps he came up with a spoof code?

My only guess is it's some kind of backwards French, but I'm sure they've already thought of that.

Um yeah, fuck the fbi. They are one of the most corrupt organizations that their is along with their counterparts. Why anyone would help them is beyond me. Anyone who helps this group of sick fucks needs to be shot.

I've cracked it, its a list of his shopping. look at the different blocks of 4 letters which crop up throughout the letter, they each stand for a different thing

First thing that pops into my head would be what he would have in his pockets. Phone numbers? Maybe they are old phone numbers since it is claimed he was into drugs and had a hard street life. >?<

Not enough information.
They should look at old phone numbers for the area but I know they thought of that.
I'd have to get paid to work on it for real.
They are hunting the killer or he was into something very freaky. They might get it too since most are very stupid.

I have the most awful time finding any compassion for those monsters. Hopefully it will lead them to finding the killer or killers.
