Here is some interesting information about Russell Means, the leader of this movement, very interesting indeed.

http://thirdpartywatch.com/2007/12/2...oken-treaties/

He ran against Ron Paul in the 1988 libertarian party presidential race. Also ran with Larry Flint in 1984 as vice presidential candidate.

I just hope that the same thing doesn't happen to them as happened to the monks in Burma.

They have been breaking treaties for 1000's of years but in recent history there have many peaceful battle's won through the courts, world wide giving rights and land back to the native people.

I counting on them to break this cycle.

Russell Means has proven to be a man for the people of his nation and had to deal with being railroaded by the PTB though the court system buy those who say. "yeah" your right, but let's just forget about it, hey.

I'd rather live under there system, laws. than there bullshit.

Have you heard the phrase 'good cop, bad cop'?

Check this out:

American Indian Movement on Russell Means

http://www.aimovement.org/moipr/onrussellmeans.html

Lakota secession (unfortunately) = Operation carrot dangle

Before I started researching this I was making plans to move out there, or at least go there for an extended stay, that's where I'm coming from.

Thumbs down Russell Means?

Now I remember this guy from a book I read awhile ago.
"We are still struggling to free political prisoners, Leonard Peltier and David Sohappy".

They should have been freed a long time ago. There money time and effort haven't achieved there aim in there release.
Which was based circumstantial evidence

Russell Means is working against the aims of the movement by confronting issues in a aggressive style fucking things up.

Thanks for bring that to light Teslafire

I hope the Native Americans make it through this. I can agree that their standard of living is poor. I saw one on myspace one time and he was fat as hell, and smoked a shit load of weed.

There are natives visiting this forum and there are native members here.... sooo why do the lot of you speak as if this is a white man's world?! This is EVERYONE's world, as long as it is not abused and mistreated. Very simple, common sense.

The reason so many are so big, is that their bodies are designed to be living off the land, not fed the westernized 'beige' diet of carbs and sugars.

All you have to do is tour the Wounded Knee reservation and the other adjoining nations to see that it really is true that they are the POOREST reservation in the world, and heinously treated by the US government because they refuse to give up any more land- they happen to sit atop one of the richest uranium deposits in the world. (reference movie Thunderheart).
US goverment is scum. The whole country feels utterly evil to me and if the Lakota make a stand, I'll stand with them.

What is REALLY important about this thread is to recognize the INTERNATIONAL implications of this event. The UN will have to step in once enough tribes (Nations) secede.

Remember Lincoln?
