Default Squiggly lines in peripheral vision

I'm not sure what this post should come under, so sorry if it is in the wrong place.

For the past few months I've been seeing alot of things in my peripheral vision, like squiggles of light and also dark shapes like lines moving around.

I have been to the dr's, as I had a headache at first and dizzyness at first, he said it was a migraine. But now I have no headache or dizzyness at all but I still occasionally see things (my eyes have been checked and he also checked for anything that may be behind the eyes but its come back clear).

Has anyone else experianced this? this has happened with me before when I was a teenager, my mum took me to a dr who said it was to do with the atmosphere? but I've never found any research to back that up. So if anyone knows anything about it, I'd love to know what it is

If the abnormalities are in both eyes in the same place, its a migraine and the problem is located in the visual cortex of your brain, so an eye doc wont be finding anything. I get migraines just the same way, they can get bad. The type I get are caused by dilated blood vessels pushing on the brain, which is a common cause for migraine. Caffeine can help alleviate the migraine, as it constricts blood vessels.

However if they are only in a single eye, and they move, your might be seeing floaters, which is protein thats clumped up and is suspended in the vitreous humor of the eye.

I get all kinds of trouble with my eyes. I'm incredibley short sighted in my left eye, my right has loads of floaters, and flashers. I've got severe astigmatism in both eyes and I get flashes of light that can obscure my vision badly for more than ten minutes, doesn't happen so often now but usually ends up with a mega headache lasting up to 24 hours.
Eating MSG didn't do my eyes any favours either but I've pretty much cut that out!.

I've had similar trouble once and it lasted a couple of days and then disappeared.
Also woke up once and had double vision for about 15 - 20 minutes, it really freaked me out but again it passed.

Not sure what caused it, eye strain or too much booze the night before lol, but in both cases it went soon enough.
Have you had it long?

Hi yes its in both eyes, will try drinking more caffeine, as I don't drink tea or coffee, but will have some if it works.

andyh... I've had it over a month, not all the time though

lol lizzyking... what the heck was that? it wouldn't load properly (my laptop is rubbish at loading youtube videos.. takes ages) it looked like it was going to turn into some dodgy '70's porn though

Breath more... lack of oxygen can cause loss of color vision

I bet it was YOU! You tried to choke me with your tail, didn't you? I bet that's why I heard noises on the back of the truck!
