While it is true that cholesterol can block arteries, it is actually imflammation that allows the cholesterol to stick to the arterial walls, and without it the cholesterol would just float around in the bloodstream waiting to be processed by the liver. There is a lot of money to be made by pushing the cholesterol angle because it is not a cure but rather a long term control. Actually treating imflammation (especially through prevention) would put the healthcare industry out of business because it is the cause of most chronic diseases. One day in the future history will show that Statin drugs were a disaster and a crime. They not only damage the liver and kidneys, but they damage muscle tissue, including the heart muscle, and it will be apparent that Statins caused thousands of cardiac arrests and needless deaths. .
