I know lots of skeptical Catholics who don't care what the Vatican says, or their Bishops, don't care for theology and just do good stuff anyway because of the words of Jesus in the Bible. |

Surely that mean that they are not really Catholics, they might as well be any other type of Christian.

Yes I do, but like with most religions there are varying degrees of devotion, some are just born into it, and Catholic by name and it may play little part in their life, but these are not the Catholics I refer to in post 41, I mean active pope worshipping Catholics, ie. the kind of Catholic the pope wants.

I have never met any Catholic who worships the pope.
Do you know of any CofE that worship the Queen? I don't either. What do they teach down Heaton Baptist Church? Last edited by mikey mikey; 15-08-2010 at 10:00 AM. |

The pope is evil and anyone who supports the catholic church is a brainwashed tool. The catholic church are pretty much ambitious as in all companies, priest wants to be a bishop, the bishop wants to be a cardinal, the cardinal wants to be pope and the pope wants to sit beside "god".
Nobody wants to rock the boat and expose what was endemic cover ups regarding paedophilia .Covering each other all the way up. The pope covered this up when he was a cardinal. For any catholic priest to be allowed to continue abusing vulnerable children for more than 40 years is way way beyond comprehension. Power is EVIL and I don't understand catholics who like the pope. |

The whole of Christianity is evil and a power grab - a dirty faggot priesthood telling us who and what to believe in. JC very probably did not exist and was a fabrication of earlier Mediterranean beliefs in the dying resurrected godman - Osiris/Dionysius/Attis/Mithras just to name a few.
By destroying the works and temples of pagan Greece and Rome, Christianity has sent us back 1,700 years. The Greeks invented a device similar to a steam engine, yet no work was able to be done to get to the steam engine, for about 1,600 years as the Christians destroyed the knowledge in the books which very probably would have enabled Europe to have a steam engine by 300-500 AD or so. Different world huh? Religious wars have killed billions of people. I would consign all Christians to Hades if I had the power. |

For what? Against whom?
There are something I believe he has been right on; anti-Iraq war, anti torture (Gitmo etc) his theological rationalism, the easing of the restrictions on the Tridentine Mass, condemnation of excessive consumerism his statement that "not possible to forget the suffering and the injustices inflicted by colonizers against the indigenous population, whose fundamental human rights were often trampled" his continued efforts to foster dialogue with other religions without losing site of christianity his advocacy for a fairer redistribution of wealth his call for nuclear disarmament his criticism of the financial/banking system Other things I disagree with him on birth control homosexuality his handling of the sex scandals he is a little on the conservative side for me But if you want to continue thinking he is a force for evil, there is little I can do to change your mind, I imagine. |

That said, clearly there is and has been for a thousand years, a huge gap betw the Catholic people and the Vatican. Vatican has basically always been a nest of vipers - the proverbial `Synagogue of Satan' and many people are aware of this. This was the whole reason for the Reformation of the Church 500 years ago. It was only with the Reformation that Western Civilization truly began, when the awesome power of the Vatican was limited. Vatican did not even allow the Bible to be published so that Christians could read it, only priests were allowed to read the Bible. I mean talk about PRIMITIVE. Mel Gibson and his father want the Catholic Church/Vatican to live up to its promise. Surely there is nothing wrong with that. |

I thought a younger and less conservative man should have been chosen and would have handled things better. ETA: I am suprised at Mel Gibson and family being sedevacantists and yet turning on the pope who reintroduced the Tridentine Mass. Last edited by mikey mikey; 15-08-2010 at 01:48 PM. |

I'm guessing Mel's Mom has something to say about Muslims....
The Pope a homosexual? Given the amount of sex abuses perpetrated by priests and othr Christian clergy, I'd say it was a strong possibility that he's at the very least gay.

Say the pope is finally at long last outed as a homosexual. But isn't that part of the NWO agenda, to destroy Christianity? To bring in NWO paganism?
