Gibson responded that the Church would not address homosexuality because "half of the people there in the Vatican are queer."

Well there is nothing wrong with saying what anyone with their eyes open knows to be true already, it is not a attack on homosexuals per se but a validated and in many cases honest opinion.

Thank you for that. I knew there was some dark orders within the Vatican but was unaware of the full extent.

Yes it was the first thing I thought of when I read the article. They destroy the famous son for the father being awake and speaking out. Mel's dad has always been a patriarchal figure and been in charge of the family. Mel's Passion of Christ would have had a lot of input from his father and it sure upset a lot of people. Since then Mel has been under the spotlight for all the wrong reasons...

I dont consider him disgraced at all, in fact I think he has an erudite mind, isnt it funny how the media just throws lines like that in, telling us what to think!

Yes well I agree. Although Mel wasn't born in Australia we still consider him to be ours for better or for worse. He speaks out and does things his way and I guess that has upset a lot of people over the years. So he is focused on and the media blows everything out of proportion and tells us he is a disgrace and his career is over.

Maybe his Hollywood career is over, however with the amount of money he has he has other options. So he should thank Hollywood for making him self sufficient before they destroyed him for not playing the illusion game.
