Yes. Think of how many people are employed by the government or are employed by govt contracting companies - MILLIONS. These people's jobs, their lives, houses, families, their entire livelihoods depend on keeping their noses down and supporting the govt line. They can be pretty rabid. Most don't need to be paid. They function as the non-Jewish version of the Sayanim.

Anyone here actually think the USUK govts support freedom of speech within their employees? Absolutely not. The supervisors watch the employees like hawks for any deviation from the official, gov line. Even at parties.
